As questioned above...does anyone know of a source that deals with 2G Talons? :scratch

You can find euros and all the goodies for the Eclipse but the 2G Talon seems to be a different beast altogether. :wallbash

Yea your options are limited to Nightshade and Eclipse rear conversion unless you want to do a completely custom set up like azdave. Here's one of the better looking and more creative Nightshade jobs I've seen.

I used vinyl, not niteshades.
The center section was sanded down and bondo'd and then paint matched. thanks for the compliments, if anyone wants to do it i can help them

I just bought a complete set of Talon tails and a centerpiece to do an LED conversion for DR1665. It takes a lot of time since I hate hack jobs. I expect the Talon tails to be easier than mine though since I won't be building in the sequential blinking and doing the extensive active display modes.

oh my goodness azdave, you have just changed my entire outlook on the center lit tail light. I thought you had only done it to the center, but all I have to say is wow!! that is awesome to say the least. Very neatly done, i only wish mine were like that. What's the going rate for you to do this?

Read it and weap, bitches. }( I appreciate Dave's considering hooking Daisy up. Just so you don't all think I'm paying $2,000 for custom tail lights, Dave and I are thinking of finding a way to either mount premade LED lights (think semi-trailer lighting) inside the case or just a couple relatively simple boards which only activate like the OEM bulbs. I am willing to be at Dave's house at 0500hrs some Saturday morning to help with this project. :)

At the same time, I really think Dave could make a killing if he found a way to kit these things up for future sale. I think Dave has given this some thought as well. Don't give up hope, you guys. Check out his photos and give it some thought. You might be able to do something similar, if not identical. :thumbsup

There is no going rate. I've had many requests to make more but the amount of time and labor required to do this is insane. I'm enjoying the fruits of my labor right now by showing them off and knowing that I created something very unique. I will soon have a micro-computer controlling the lights and doing some very wild special effects.

Finally got a chance to snap a pic of my Nightshade job, nothing special just thought it would be good referrence for those considering it, I think with the black roof Talons have it pulls the car together pretty well.

Yea, I'd be doing the Azdave thing too (microcontroller layout is all setup and sketched out), but I require around 740 LEDS and each costs about $.40. I might just wait until graduation!


Plus, I want to keep the stock hatch key hole on there - but I may have to take that off too just to keep the lighting homogeneous around the key hole. haven't figured it out yet

If you're picky like me you'll hate having the shadow from the key lock showing through the lens at different angles. I fixed that by removing the key lock and blocking the access hole. There is a fake key entrance inside the lens so it looks normal from outside.

I also installed a remote trunk pop solenoid and lifting device to top off the project. You can see them in action at the end of this remote start video.

Excellent use of those LED's. These have given me a few routes to go I didn't expect. I do have an extra Talon tail light trio I might do some experimenting with.

I don't suppose you could write a step by step when your done? Or maybe do a thread they can stickie so all us Talon owners can try your magic.. I am somewhat capable in the area of electronics and the use of solder.

I like the looks of the stockers too.... Ijust wish they left out the yellow and kept em all red.

All I can say is that your knowledge of electronics is most impressive and what you have created is truly a work of art.

if you can find them, there is a set of clears for the talon. I havent seen it in 3 years on ebay though.
