hi, I don't have the power switch harness that plugs in behind the power switches, and satan quoted me something stupid ridiculous for them, i don't think he knew what he was even looking for (120$$$) heck no!! Anyway, maybe someone on here knows...hopefully.

this is the back of the driver side power window/lock switch, and i wanna know if anyone knows what the plugs control..



there are a total of 8, so i'm guessing it's two for each switch, maybe i can just solder the spal wires onto them or something, or if anyone has the actual plug harness they'd be willing to sell me, that would be great!!

Maybe make a WTB in the Sale/Wanted section. BTW it is a white plug and it has like little white hoops on each side. Def not a $120 part. Maybe he was talking about the whole thing? Not sure.

yea, i thought he was insane after that price, i was very specific too, but yea, i already posted a WTB

well a lot of times dealers dont sell just a wire harness as it's actually part of a much larger wiring network. for example if you wanted a particular connector for a sensor on your block or something, it's actually part of the wiring harness that runs throughout the ENTIRE engine bay and thus has a very steep price tag because they're not gonna chop just the connector you need off of the wiring for an entire engine bay.... that's what i found out when i just wanted the newer coilpack connector. kinda sucks but makes sense at the same time. :shrug

i still doubt it's a $120 part. I'll be calling another dealer where their parts techs know what they are looking for.

well yea it's obviously not worth $120 but if it's listed in their computer as part of the wiring for the entire door which then goes into the cab inside the dashboard and terminates at the relays then yea it's gonna be expensive. it sounds like you're looking for a connector with a wires on the other end, right? they don't make it like that. you're buying OEM parts and it came from the factory as part've a long ass wiring harness. :P

as far as just solderin on wires that's prolly your best bet. just check for continuity between certain pins. i'm guessing there's a common ground and a power lead as well.

2 leads for drivers window
2 leads for pass window
2 leads for locks
1 power
1 ground

that'd be my guess as to how it's wired... i can never remember if the stock stuff was like a neg or pos trigger system or one've the reverse polarity systems... i'm pretty sure the schematics are posted somewhere :shrug

that's exactly what i wanna do, but i don't know how to check for that, if someone has posted some schematic, i would love to see it.

BUMP!! OMG i need to know how in the hell i can wire these switches??? my awesome GS door skins are collecting dust awaiting installation!! i wanna finish my interior already!!! help. I double checked at satan on the harness and it really is $120 for each door harness, that's freaken insane

I had the same problem with mine and the car isn't (or at least mine wasnt) wired to use the power window harness anyway, so i snagged a window switch plug from the junkyard plugged it into the back of the switch and ran my own power and ground wires, I'll have to get the wire colors next time I pull off the door panel, but I did use the factory power windows out of a gs. The only other problem I ran into is, the track that is connected to the window was about an inch longer than my manual tracks, and I had to unbolt the manual glass track and swap the power track into it, not difficult, but I only realized after I had problems lining up bolt holes in the door. My problems may have been caused because of different year harness, and tracks, but as far as I know you will have to do the same, but I could be wrong.

yes it did, however the interior wiring harness wasn't wired up to give it power so i spliced into the white plug that goes into the switch panel, and ran my own power and ground from there, i belive it was the green wire/yellow strip, and the brown wire, but again I would have to take the door panel off to be for sure and the car isn't here for me to do that, or take pictures.

oh ok. yea, i wish i knew which pin was which. I was maybe thinking the left two pins control one window, the right two the passenger, the two down would be power/ground, and the other two for the locks, however i'm just considering this by the placement of the pins to the switches, so i know i'm probably way off.
