I tried painting that turbo timer flat black. The first time, it turned out okay but not perfect so I repainted it. But this time, the paint has so many wrinkles, I am almost tempted buying just a shell. Anyway to salvage this turbo timer and paint it black to match my interior. I tried to put rubbing alcohol on it but this was still the result. The material is made out of plastic to those unfamiliar with the turbo timer.

scuff the housing up with 300 then 800 grit sandpaper. clean it with alcohol and let dry, making sure no oils or ANYTHING contacts the surface. use 2-3 coats of plastic primer and re-sand with 1200 grit if neccisary. clean again, and apply 3-5 (LIGHT) coats of paint until it looks right. let it dry in a room temp. environment under a "tent" (i use plastic wrap propped over a chair back) for two days to let everything "settle" (the tent keeps the dust off).

wrinkles mean youve applied your paint coats to thickly. peeling results in improper surface prep.

No, my interior is the stock back dash and panels with baige cloth.

All of my gauges are black, therefore, I painted my apexi tt to match everything, as well as have it be much less noticeable with the tinted windows for passing theifs who walk by my car and see something they'd like.
