Ok well it was starting to get dark last night when i finally got done sanding down the rims...i decided ill get 1 rim done...well due to me being exausted and it getting dark outside, i think i oversprayed a little. I did 4 coats black and 4 coats clear....well this morning i went outside and was horrified, i rubbed the rim a little and paint came off on my hands....wtf i put a lot of clear on it...should this be happening?

What was the temperature last night in your area? You did use an excessive amount of coats imo, Try to let each coat dry but between stages. What brand rattle can are you using?

yeah, clear coat has nothing to do with it. After you sanded did you clean the rim off then wipe it down with acetone and or alcohol. I don't think temp was your problem either. It was all in the prep and maybe inadequate drying times between coats. In 75 degree temps and little humidity 8 coats should of took you about 1.5 to 2 hours and thats just a baseline, higher temp outside temp of rim,humidity ect ect may change that alot + or -.

If you stripped it with stripper, you need to completely wash off the residue or it won't stick.

How long did you wait inbetween coats? When i sprayed, I allowed at least 10mins between coats to allow the prior coat to dry enough. What type of paint did you use?

definitly has to do with prep work . did you prime it, u should have cleaned the whole rim with prep solvent b4 you sprayed . what kind of paint did you use . i hate spray paint . i will never use it again . only spray gun bc/cc for me .

They look awesome now...I cleaned them very well...sanded, and cleaned again with alcohol....i waited about 10 minutes inbetween each coat...what i did was painted over the clear again...with the same color it said but was a little different...it actually helped it all blend very well. and then i cleared it 3 times...and voila! They look really nice...ill have some pics soon :)
