Did any one have any problems with the fitting of the hood. Mine had a 3/4 inch gap on both sides of the hood. And the bad thing is that I thought that it was just my hood that was messed up, but my friend just got his and its the same way. So let me know what all yall had to do to get it to fit, or whatever.

i heard from klipzracer that your fenders are adjustable and you just move them in some to cover the gap....

adjustable fender? no, chris was smokin the fat ass pipe when he said that. if the fenders were moved to cover a gap at the top they would create a gap at the bottom. my hood has a gap on the passenger side. i just said fuck it and left it cause its hitting the frame of the car just left of the strut tower bar.

mines was messed up, too...all it took to fix it was some hood pins in the right place.

no, lindsey, i was not smoking the fat a$$ pipe. hehehe what i meant was you can unbolt your fenders at the top and push them in some so you have less of a gap. this is about the best i could do. i still ave a lil gappage on the drivers-side though.

Dang, I wouldn't call that a little gap...that looks like a pretty big gap to me...I guess the aerogear hoods are not wide enough then?

im not impressed with the fitment of any hoods other then Ray's carbon fiber hood.

I have spoken with them and they told me it is the right hood, We sold 29 of the eclipse hoods all from the same mold. Yours was one of them. They said there is no way one hood could be that messed up that much. From the pictures all the curvature matches up on the hood and body. These hoods are only guaranteed to fit a vehicle that has not been repaired. We have only seen this on vehicles that have had damaged and been fixed, in this case they will not line up properly, but can be fixed. They said the picures show repairs. We have seen this hood on the eclipse and have had pics sent to us of this hood from the same auction and they fit fine. We would reccommend you take it to a shop that specializes in putting this stuff on. Aerogear and Altered Auto Sports said they could get it fit with no major mods to the car. We apologize but there is nothing we can do for the hood in this case."

This has been going on since august. So I went to the shop and got it put on. I moved the fenders in(thanx klipz)its a little better but Im not completely satisfied. Im just going to have to live with it.

I personally dont like the 6 vent hood, i like the hump in our hood, thats why if i replace mine, it will be cf

they make that 6 vent hood in cf

I heard aerogear is making it in CF but its not out yet and shall be kinda pricey.. www.asylumms.com has a CF 6vent hood for 500. i am not sure what the quality of it is though. neo makes it

well i have a CF hood but want the 6vent i love the hump but i can live without it.

KLIPS do you have probs with getting water into your engine from your hood.. have you rigged it to make it put the water somewhere else or not???

no probs with water it hits the radiator.
