I need to remove the two slide out pieces from my sun roof so I can cover them with new fabric. Just wondering the best way to get them out of there without breaking them.

I covered this awhile back on tuners. Maybe this will help you out.

1. Crack your sunroof, but don't make it go back all the way.

2. Start sliding the shades, with your hands on the inside while looking at it from the top.

3. You see any springs there? Those are OEM springs by Mitsubishi. Don't lose them, they're 5 bucks a piece from mitsubishiparts.com, not including the plastic with them.

4. Get a flat blade screwdriver and push the spring mechanism plastic part back until it pops out.

5. Do this to all of them. There should be four one one shade and another set on the other shade.

Or...

I miss mine! I busted it two nights ago and now I need to buy a new one. Busted it to shit trying to get it to line up in there the rite way.. Kept retracting itself to far or not enough and didnt slide all the way forward when the roof was closed.

It's not real hard, just do one side at a time.

I looked up these parts on mitsubishiparts.com and the results weren't too flattering. Roughly 5 bucks for the spring and 5 bucks for the plastic retainer... each.
