Well igot the vertical door kit on my car right now which is a 98 gsx and i got everything lined up pretty good ( final adjustments when=hen fenders go on) Now the problem I'm having is i know you have to roll/cut inner fender cause hinge hits it as it goes up in the air. But when i put the fender on it seems to be hitting up front by the tire where the strut comes out a bit! its pushing the fender away from the car about a 1 1/2" so what should i do?? I'm going to post a pic of what i see some one else has done , but i think this looks stupid, cause u could see the tip of the shock sticking out.

I had a few problems with my kit ( i don't even know if it were made for a eclipse lol) but i have it all working good except up to this part, So me and my boss were thinking of cutting back the shock mounting point enough to make it flush then it would be able to squeeze by the lip of the fender and would look alot neater and cleaner and not have a big hole in the front of my fender. SO what do you guys think i need this done tomorrow so i can have it all back together for a car show on Sunday!! What did anyone else do in this case????

I don't have any experience with lambo doors, especially ones that might not even be for the right car but......

A good rule of thumb when aligning body panels is to start with what you know is 99% right to begin with for instance your fender. Sometimes they are a little tweaked and use of a flatbar or similar help to guide it where it needs to be.Start at the top and "work" the fender down if you need to. It sounds like your trying to adjust the fender to meet the door?

Consider your fender the reference point, what ever you do next to it has to conform to the fenders original mounting points. If you have to tweak the fender a little (rolling the edge, or cutting a little off the backside, ect ect) then that is cool as long as its mounting points are intact. I've read alot of the lambo install posts here and there and have seen alot of pics, yet they all seem to go on with very little work to the edge of the fender or none at all.

The only thing I can say is whats holding the fender out? Its kind of hard to follow what the issue is, but I think if your bound up on something your going to have to make the modifications needed to clear the issue.Maybe a pic from the hinge side would be more helpfull(like behind the fender from the hinge side)

It is well know that the Lambo doors require you to cut a small area in the fender jamb towards the top due the the hinge when i fully extends. I have seen this portion cut out on every writeup i have seen so far. Start cutting or sell them.

Ok yes i know i have to cut that portion of the inner lip away where the hinge hits and goes up and down cause it rubs along it! thats not a big deal the big deal is in front you will see in the pic on the thread i posted that where the bottom of the strut mounts is hitting the front of the fender. SO i guess we will have to cut it of and move it back a bit so it will clear when we push the fender on! We cant think of any other ways! I really dont like the idea of cutting a big notch in the front of my fender to let this go by! This is my troubles and i wanted to see if anyone else ever ran into this problem!

When you close the door down and shut it, does the end of the hinge hit inside of your inner fender on the plastic or where exactly are you talking about where it hits? Take a pic of it exactly where it hits for us.
