does anyone have any pics of a gauge in their cigarette lighter spot? i read up a bit on it on here and i pretty much concluded that i need a dremel to do it. anyone have tips about doing this? thanks

Yes I did it.

You need to take out the cigg lighter and dremel it out. Thats exactly what I did. I must warn you that the gauge isnt 100% flush you can still see part of the gauge from the passenger side, but it is VERY hard to see.

i would advise against the dremel unless you have a perfect steady hand. Just use a 2" hole saw and some sand paper to sand down that very small amount that needs to be bigger.

does that gauge sit flush then with the console?

I got this mod done with hearing a rumor about it, and figured my own way to do it.

I used a 2" door knob hole drill bit and it worked fine.

Does it sit flush? Mine, sits really tight and cannot be moved from the outer side. If i went behind the gauge and pushed on it for about 10 minutes, I could finally get it out.

Is this mod cool? Yeah, but I wouldnt put an IMPORTANT gauge here. My cabin lights up from my boost and a/f on my pillar, my reverse glows in the dash, and then my 7 color volt gauge in the console. The volatge works, I can check it really fast when cranking the stereo, and you get a good idea of usage at what RPMs. If you got a loose belt or dying alternator, its a good way to find out!
