Ok, I know quite a few of you did not think the retro looked all that great in my previous post with pictures. But I am showing you new pictures with some minor adjustments in mounting angle. The beam pattern is about 75 yards wide, and shoots out about 50 yards. This worked out fantastic. Cut-off is pretty sharp, but in some pictures you see its fuzzy, only because the wall I shot it on was textured weird and it was raining out. I got the projectors from a member off of HIDPlanet. It took me months to track these down. My setup consists of, the 350Z Projectors, Stock Reflector, Hella Generation 4 Ballasts, and Philips 4100K Bulbs, not to mention a whole lot of time putting these in the housing. Needless to say though this was alot of fun and I may actually do it again in the future for someone or to one of my parents vehicles.

Light output looks pretty good. Have to love HID when they are in projectors that are made for it!

I will take some daytime pictures once I get the car cleaned up.. its filthy now after this nasty rain but it looks like the car would have came with this from the factory. It's mounted in there just rite that it blends and its got this fierce look to it.

would definitely love to see how it looks in the day, light output looks pretty good.

Thanks for all the compliments guys. Pictures during the day wont be captured that well with the camera, but it deffintley looks nice in person when you see it coming at you because it has a nice flicker in the color on the bowl of the projector. As far as turbo'n it goes, I really hope to turbo it soon and add a 5-speed. We'll see what kind of money I have though when I get out of boot camp and move to florida

are your projectors a regular pure white light or do they have that blue/purple fringe to them? maybe pics don't show it. I don't know much about the difference in HID's but what type are those that have that purple haze like the BMW's?

looking good, just make sure you aim those right, youve got reflectors, so they spew out massive amounts of light off to the sides and up

well as he mentioned they're 4100k so that's pretty much mostly white. when you get in the 3000k range it's more yellowish. 8000k is bluish and around 12000k is purplish. also as far as color goes, a higher number usually means less output in terms of lumens. but blue and purple look oh so spiffy!

I think he was talking about the projectors on the newer Benzs and BMWs.. they have white light that comes out of them from straight angles, but as the angle increases the light changes color suddenly to blue or purple.
Like if this is the cone of light > everything inside it would be white, but the outline itself would be blue. now those look AWESOME... especially when they hit a bump in your rear view and the light starts flickering from really bright white to that gorgeous HID blue.

Mine does the blue flicker. :P

It's the way the light bends after passing over the cutoff shield then going through the projector lens, kind of like the way white light is broken up into a rainbow of colors when you shine it through a prism.

Explained it perfectly, it does have the blue flicker. Me and my friend never saw our cars coming at each other with HIDs before so I took his maxima and he took my eclipse. And the car does give a blue flicker effect when it comes at you and goes up and down. The light on the ground tho is pure white. I wish the pictures came out better and I had a better wall to use, because the cut off is very clean and the color in the cut-off line is amazing for such a small projector that uses a d2r bulb. Maybe someday though I will try some TL projectors now those are sexy.

The TL's are nice or you could use the Bi-Xenon projectors off of the e46's like mine.

I like TLs because of the more colorful cutoff.. My friend has E55s in his maxima and they are alright but I really like TLs if I could afford them.. Not concerned though because these 350Zs work fantastic for me

Thank you and no I dont mind at all.. The total for the project was around $350.. I hit some pretty good deals so I was fortunate.. I am more than happy to help any of you if you decide to do a retrofit.. Totally worth every penny.
