So i finished up my retro fit, I think it turned out pretty well considering what I had to work with and how difficult it was to mount. I can't explain really how much of a bitch it was though to get these mounted deffintley much harder than a normal projector where you could use 4 screws plus they could be a bigger size. I was forced to use a certain size screw that was hard to find. I am going to say 4mm but I dont know I had to buy them individually buy matching it up out of a box. Anyway, sure you guys dont want to hear me ramble about my entire process so I'll just post some pictures. I'll have balasts probably Tuesday so I will post then for you guys to see the output pictures.

1st off, good job on doing something custom.
I just don't know if I like it. I thought they would be more integrated into the headlight shell. It kinda looks like they were just bolted right to the top of the reflector. Its hard to tell though, from the angle of the pics.

Yea, I thought it would look quite different than the way it turned out too.. but o'well fuck it. It's bolted to the back though. Hopefully when I received my balasts I can see if I have it alighned rite in there.

Hmm I don't know. Didn't you have HIDs the last time and it was pretty nice? I'm wondering why you did this in the first place because they kinda don't blend in too well. No offense or anything :)

I've been through the same thing doing headlight upgrades. I had a busted passenger lens that prompted me to finish my HID Hella projector retro into some new ebay projectors.

EclipseTensoR is having the same problem I had when I tried putting HID projectors into stock housings. The projectors he used were much smaller than mine so that helps but there is still the problem of the factory bezel not fully hiding the area around the projector. I was trying to do like the custom audio guys do where you stretch cloth over the component and fiberglass them to make a free form cover. I didn't like the way it was turning out and decided to retro-fit projectors into some ebay projectors instead. That worked for me but was still a lot of work.

I also had an HID 9006 kit that allowed me to use HID bulbs in the factory reflectors. That works but it really is not recommended without paying carefull attention to alignment and glare reduction.

HID bulbs in a factory reflector cannot compare to a true HID projector system. That's why we all want to retro-fit real projectors, like the ones he used here, into another housing.

i like the idea, and it looks decent. but they dont look straight to me, looks like it would be pointing towards the curbs when driving, instead of straight ahead. A++ for the idea though.

You can always grab so projectors and retrofit using that casing. I think I'd look good actually with projector headlamp style.

They are suppose to aligned that way on an angle. I originally had them pointing strait then my friend came over who did a retro on his maxima, and hes like no dude.. your doing it all wrong look on the bottom of the reflector and you see these lines pointing out on an agle.. that is a guide line that tells you where the beam is suppose to be angled. Trust me it should be almost dead on. And I don't want to do anymore retros.. I have actually considered selling the car soon and buying a gsx when I get out of boot camp. I'm hoping I find some reason though in between for me to keep my car before I leave for boot camp.

what branch you going in? and i'm same way as you, sell the n/t and get a turbo. only problem is, i'm also looking at a 97-2001 lude. shit is so cheap for a honda, it makes me sick. anyways, good luck to ya. you'll love the military.

Hey thanks man, Yea I would really like to get a GSX when I get out of boot camp or put the car in a shop like Concept Illusions and have them swap a built motor and 5 speed in there along with a Hahn Stage 2. I'm not sure though. I really feel attached to my car so I dont want to sell it.. Anyway I am going into the Navy as an Aviation Electrian. Anymore comment for the retro fit guys.

It looks very out of place to me. I'm pretty sure the projectors aren't supposed to be at an angle like that. But at least it's something custom.

Modifications were made, and alignment is dead on. It looks fucking fantastic in person, and the beam pattern is about 150 yards wide! This is an amazing setup and I am very happy with it. Will post output pictures later when I can get a tripod.
