87377, Are there different styles of center consoles?
Posted by BWtwoK, Jul-21-05 04:40 AM
I just got my 97 rs last night and I have tried searches here but really cant find a good definitive answer. Is there a different console I can put in this thing that has the arm rest that flips up to have an a compartment? Im sure there has to be. Just need to know where I need to look.

Your center console has no comparment in it? Thats weird.. I know my '95 ESi has one and if your RS doesn't have one, odds are GS Eclipses do.

Yeah the GS eclipses have a cover over the compartment. Most RS dont have the cover. Just find a GS center console with a cover and swap them out. Your good...

Thats what I was figuring. I know I have seen them in some pics I just wanted to make sure.. Now its junk yard hunting time. besides I need some other parts cause a damn ricer must have had the car before me as there are holes in the A-pillar for a guage pod and holes for some reason drilled into the drivers door skin so I wanna pick up replacements for that anyway.

You can also search the forsale forums on this and other dsm sites if you have no luck on those items.

you dont need a whole diff console. what you need is the lid, the hinges, the little guides, and the correct bottom tray. thats the only difference, you wont need an entire new console assembly.
