Posted by Chris97RS, Jul-21-05 02:34 AM
this problem has been driving me crazy for almost a year now. somewhere in the trunk on the drivers side the is water leaking in to my car, when it rains when i wash it all the time. ive checked all the weather stripping around the hatch, i have the entire interior out of the car right now and i still cant figure out where its coming from. any ideas????

There are two little drains one on either side where the hatch meets the body. Make sure they are not clogged with dirt and debris. They go down to a rubber hose which dumps under the car.

I have checked those also the one was kinked so i just replaced both of them and it still leaks. it seems to me that the water is coming from somewhere near the antenna. i can kinda see water marks and follow them but then they get to the point where i cant fit my big ole head in to see where they originate.

never thought of that, thanks.:wallbash i just dont understand how its gettin in there. ive felt around in there and it doesnt seem like there are any welds or any kinda opening in that space the water could be coming in. but ill try the mirror thing and see what i find.

That's happened to me once. Twist in the antenna (use your fingernail to put inside the groove and twist) to the right to make it snug.

i checked the antenna, and its as tight as it gets. im thinkin about just gettin some of that spray in bedliner and just sealing the whole trunk. that seems like the easiest solution right now, unless anyone else has any ideas.

Don't be fucking ghetto. Do it right. Look around very hard and find the source of your problem. Don't start making a bigger mess for yourself.

Why don't you try taking out all your rear panels? There are a couple of screws and plastic parts that twist off and then just pull. Then get somebody to take a hose to the rear of your car while you find the problem.

Why not on a dry day, use a water hose set on low pressure? Might be easier to have a buddy hold the hose at diff spots to where you can try to see where its coming from.

LOL! i also have that water leak on my car, but it doesnt bother me since the hatch is completely gutted out. The water just drains itself where spare tire goes.

I've heard the bolts for the spoiler can leak some water in under the top cover on the hatch.

Search and you will find many threads on this.

I was just going to say that^^^. My spoiler bolts leaked when I first bought my car, I put some clear silicone in the bolt holes and retightened the bolt, five years later, it still doesn't leak. hope this helps
