87306, 350Z Retro-Fit Question Posted by EclipseTenzoR, Jul-18-05 08:04 PM
Ok so i have the projectors and bulbs and get my balasts later this week. I am taring apart the lights Thursday, my question for you guys is.. Should I keep the projectors silver still or should I paint them black.. Take a look and let me know what would look best in the stock housing. I already plugged them in tonight and the beam pattern is absolutley amaxing for such a small projector I cant wait to get it in the car

I think just stick them in as-is and if you don't like how they look (or you can post pics online for all to see), then paint them black.

Yea I am trying to do this only once though.. retro-fitting can be tideous and a major pain in the ass so I want to do it only once. I will probably just keep it the way it is though that way it sorta stands out more and people can be like.. emm that looks firmilar. I am very excited to get started on this.

I will be starting the project tommorow and will be forced to drive a cavalier until I am finished lol.. Anyway I think I am going to keep them silver, because of the construction of the projectors they wont fit snug in the back because of how they are designed. It is designed to let the light out on the sides a little bit which I think will still work great because our reflectors provide excellent cut of lines on the side so it should look like a stock HID system. As for the palm dave I already sold it. I'll keep you informed on how it goes tommorow. And I will take lots of photos
Edit: The cost of these puppies cost me $150, and I was lucky because I just happened to go on HID planet when someone was selling these. I have been looking for months and just got lucky

Depending on how well the new projectors blend in with the old bezel could determine your color choice. If they blend in nicely with no obvious gaps around the projector and the bezel then a black bezel might look best. If there are some lines that don't flow well or there are some gaps that are hard to hide, then silver might hide it better.
Good luck on the retro.
BTW, you still got that Palm Pilot deal? I sent an email but got no reply back.
