To anyone debating getting some HIDs, don't hesitate cause they are totally worth it. Mine are Rising HID. Never heard of them but I think it is a Korean brand; got them for about 200 new on ebay. You definitely get what you pay for since it is one of those cheapy units from Korea so I wasn't expecting the 500 dollars ones from Philips, but overall, I am very satisfied because I got them SUPER CHEAP with a 1 year warrantee! I also like the fact that they included brackets that you can use to mount the HID very easily actually. The included double-sided 3M tape goes on the flat metal brackets, and I also use the included zip ties to double secure it just in case. The ballast don't move with the 3M tape but you never know. Then the brackets are mounted via screws in my fender area (see pics).







As far as stock versus HID, it 100% different. When I sit in the car, I was never unable to see the beam pattern on the road with the stock halogens, but now with the HIDs, I can see the clear bright beam pattern as well as everything on the road. The beams also are a lot wider compared to stock. For example, when I am driving on the freeway, the signs lightup slightly even when they are far to the side and over me. The light itself is white 5000k, but there is a slight blue that is most prominent when you turn them on and also when looking at it at certain angles.

One of my main concerns prior to buying HIDs was blinding people and so far, I have never been flashed for having too bright lights. Never been stopped either. When you look at them in person, they aren't blinding.

I have to warn you, the pics show a ton of glare for some reason with camera I'm using, but in person, there is no glare. Everything has a clear definition, and I have to say, they totally kick ass.

Looks good. I love those rims on your car but you deffintley need to paint your calipers.. It makes such a huge difference with the wheels. I just redid mine a few days ago since I dropped it.

I'm pretty much done actually, or course unless something bad happens but I'll take it on when the time comes.

Yup, aftermarket HID in the eclipse is nice but now that I have factory HID with self leveling projector headlights, it's so much better!

I do what I can. :P My bimmer gets about 29mpg but I still have to use damn 91 octane.

Ya know in the near future, I'm really contemplating a diesel or hybrid. I totally forsee when soon we'll pay 3 dollar/gallon. I mean in socal, I know think 2.50 per gallon is LOW!!! for 91. That's insane and I am getting used to paying 2.70 :(

HID's put out A LOT less heat than halogens but are MUCH brighter. that's why they're so much more efficient. less energy is wasted in the form of heat. i think HID's draw like 1/3 the power of halogens or something. it's those hiper white 85/100w halogen bulbs that fry harnesses. those are ridiculously hot.

I dont know where you are getting your information my friend but that is incorrect. I never once had any issues with cheap projectors and HIDs. HIDs only use 35watts where as halogens use 50watts though that doesnt sound like much of a difference the in heat there is. HIDs run very cool and last much longer. Because of the lower wattage used from HIDs it putts less stress on your harness. I would double check on what you read. A retro-fit is the best HID setup you can go with other than buying a car equipped with it already. I wish we could retro an auto-leveling system in our cars. Lexust just managed to do it with the IS300 and they too use reflectors. It amazes me how these systems work. They even have a new system where the lights turn with in the direction the wheel turns. Not that this is a new concept because Preston Tucker did this in 1948 to his car known as the Tucker. Anyway I always seem to ramble, but in short you people need to get your information rite

no what you read was probably in regards to those crappy hiper white halogen bulbs that claim to give the "HID effect". they don't come close to HID's and only put out more light than normal halogens because they run at a much higher wattage. this means they also put out much more heat and melt all kinds of shit. why people use them is beyond me. most people would never put a higher wattage bulb than they're supposed to in a lamp in their house because they don't want to start a fire. but when it comes to their car they go with what looks neat.
