...and i dont know what to do with my back seats. im buying some grey leather seats for the front, but not for back. im painting the dash and stuff black and the carpet grey. i think i might take out the back seats and cover them with grey carpet. i rode around without the back seat today, but it was noisy. what should i do?

is there anyway you can paint the interior without taking the dash out, I want to paint mine black, but I dont know how to take my head unit out and since I paid 600 bucks for it, I dont want to break it.

I would say get it reupholstered too, if you dont know any places near you that can do it I would contact katzskin and ask them for a local that could help. I asked them about a two tone interior for my RS and they told me to get it done locally because they wouldnt do it and gave me some local shops info.

ive been ridin around w/no back seat for about 2 months now. it is real loud at first! i even went out and bought dynomat to cover the fuel pump, but i never put it in my ride.

i guess i got used to it, my g/f says or said that my shit was really loud after i took out the seats, escpecially w/catback.

i was thinkin of puttin a custom enclosure ontop of the spot where the seats were. like 2 twelves facin upwards, and then da 6x9s chillen on the sides. throw the amp on the back of it. that would leave stock trunk room....

im lazy tho, so i need motivation to do that shit

well i have had my backseats out for about a year now... i was going to get rods at first so the compressor was goingto be there.. dont know what i was thinking.. but now i am going to mount my bottle back there and make a fiberglass enclousure around it.. same as the trunk.. working on 1 or 2 12s and 2 amps.. but i would not recommend painting your int with it in the car.. take it out.. or you will mess it up... if you are going to do this to your int might as well do it right the first time.. get the place that put ur face in to take it out and show u how.

How many coats of primer, paint, and clearcoat do you guys put on your car??? I just painted a couple of interior pieces in my car to see how well it would work and I already have a few scratches on it and the gray is showing through.

i used bulldog plastic adhesive worked awesome, 2 coats of that, 2-3 coats of paint, 2 clear

what I did was sand the pieces to get a real smooth surface and then washes it, 2 coats of primer, 3 of paint and 6 of clear coatings and it still looks the same since feb 2000 when I did it, no scratches or anything.

did you guys use a special paint or did you just use krylon, like others. I put two coats of primer down, about 4 coats of paint and 4 coats of clear, let it dry for a couple of hrs and installed them in the car (in the dark too, maybe that was part of the problem hehe). Oh yeah, how did you guys mask off the other parts of the door?? I tried electical tape, scotch tape, military type tape and none stuck really well. I will probably repaint the doors the weekend after next and I also plan on painting the underdash areas and the airbag in black. It looks damn good so far (except the couple of scratches).tia

I used SEMS its really expensive about 8 bucks a bottle but id say well worth it.. my boy used krylon which looks pretty good.. it comes out really shinnyyyy without clear coat.. but it came off after touching alot... but was still good. i used sems silver but some cheap black because i didnt like the way the sems black looked..and i used cheap clear coatbut have found the best one.. forgot the name though.. damn

you mean the paint came off??? Well I am painting the doors (below the armrest), the area under the steering wheel, the two sides of the center console, the glovebox area and the airbag all in black. Where did you get the SEM paint from??

well i think they have a web site you can order it from .. down in fl where i live there was this auto paint supply place and they had it. havent really looked at other places for it but i know the likes of auto zone etccc dont carry it.. oh you asked about masking my elec tape stuck but once i painted and let it dry it ruined it.. maybe i did not let it dry long enough.. im always in a rush.. haha.. so i just painted the whole door silver after trying to do black and silver.. which i messed up.. lots of sanding after thatt.. mann.. so i just did the vents black with the lil closing and opening things silver... and the handle black etcc.. whatever came off the door is black.. wish the lil armrest thingy was painted black. i dont have a GS so no cloth insert for me.. stinky RS... the Krylon doesnt look to bad.. he just didnt clear coat it...

Nice ride man! I like the color black that krylon has (the semi-flat), but I want it to stay on. I clearcoated the shit about 4 times and it still got scratched off in some places. The majority of it looks good though, so I think if i repaint it again, and clearcoat the hell out of it it should work. whatcha think??

yea i have re done alot of mine for the fact that i didnt sand smooth the first time and i want the smooth look now.. and people get in and kick and what not.. thats why i like riding solo most of the time..

id sand it all down to get all that paint off.. then sand it smooth.. primer and wet sand.. paint it a few times and then throw on some clear coat.. i usually use 2 coats.. just cus im lazy..
