Well, I'm trying to decide what to do with this car. I love the style of the talon, but this car has a lot wrong with it. I'm trying to decide if the body is worth keeping. Here is a list of problems with the body:

-bumper is scratched, and cracked all over the bottom, does not line up correctly anymore.
-Both front fenders have to be replaced
-Hood has a couple very small dents in it, like the size of a dime at the biggest, and doesn't line up correctly also.
-Drivers door has a dent where someone kicked it, and has like 3 other small dings from god only knows what.
-Rear drivers side fender is fine, along with the rear bumper
-Rear passenger fender has a scrape down it, and one small ding/dent.
-Passenger door has some very small dings you can only see at a certain angle.
-The roof has hail damage all over it that you can see at certain angles.
-The hatch has a dent from a crow bar hitting it when it was at the dealer.(which they refused to fix!!) and some very small dents(from hail)
-paint has nicks, and scratches in random places

I will post pics up later if that will help.

Thats all the problems with the body, I just want to know if it is worth trying to make it look good again. Opinions? If it isn't fixable very easily, im gonna sell it, and buy a 98 talon.

take it slow, spend a little cash here and there with a lot of work, you will be glad you did

dude keep it... here's the damage to my car

- front bumper is fucked.. entire left side is scratched from a high-speed run in with a barb wire fence that happened over a year ago
- entire bottom of front bumper is scratched from bottoming out
- roof is scratched from that same incident.. scratched very badly on the passenger side
- driver's side mirror has DEEEEP gouges in it from that same incident and needs replaced
- driver's side headlight is foggy
- two dents on driver's side fender and scratches from parking lot
- dull spot on driver's side fender from buffing through the cheap fuckin non-existant repaint clearcoat
- dent in driver's side door
- two dull spots on the driver's side door from cheap fuckin non-existant repaint clearcoat
- three scratches on driver's side door from parking lots
- dent behind driver's side door
- scuff on the back bumper from some kid running a bike into my car
- black tape over the whole from my spoiler
- a series of dents on the passenger quarter panel from god knows what, it was there when I bought the car
- big flat spot on the door from hitting a brick wall at a funny angle opening it (it should curve like this bracket ) but it has a big flat line like \ in it)
- scratches on that flat spot and beneath the flat spot
- rear end of the passenger side door trim is coming off
- scratch on the passenger fender from somebody leaning on the car while wearing jeans
- exhaust rattles on cold days from 1,900-2,300rpm
- interior rattles on cold days from 2,100-2,300rpm
- the panel that goes on the underside of the trunk is missing
- the entire interior rattles
- the driver's side door rattles like a motherfucker
- keyless start antenna has come unglued from the window
- deck trim ring keeps popping off

but I still have my car and i still love it. If I didn't love it, I couldn't make that list without going out and looking on my car. and even though my car is in such shitty shape, you could never guess, could you? v v v look below.

All of a sudden i dont feel that bad about my car HAHA!

Deffinatly keep it, thats all just minor stuff!!!

Here is some food for thought.. I got rid of my eclipse because I was tired of all of its shit, well it turns out that my new car
01 Audi A4 1.8tqm (turbo, quattro, manual) with only 50k miles is giving me all sorts of dumb shit problems too.

But now it cost fuck loads to fix. I miss my eclipse everyday even though my audi is nice as hell. I'm trying to sell it and throw another motor in the eclipse untill I can afford a 350 or a carrera... I dont think anything is sexier in the price range then our cars and they are fun to play with.

J/k, but my car has problems too. It has:
-Scratches on driver side from old people sideswiping me.
-Ghetto one black and one painted handle.
-Some redneck dual muffler exhaust that's crooked. Crooked not angled.
-Scratches on rear bumper from redneck muffler.
-Wheel well eroded away from rain damage.
-Gutted interior. I'm working on it.
-Rear bumper off center from hitting a curb.

So, that probably made your mind change 0%, but it was worth a try.

the main thing about my car that i dont know is fixable is the hail damage on the roof. Does anyone have any idea how I could possibly fix it??? I'm gonna try to get a pic of it.

Ding King works good if it's not on an angled part of the car. It's real cheap and easy. The only thing is it's time consuming.

yeah, but there is about 60-70 small dings scattered accross the roof that you can see at an angle...

Wow, didn't think anyone else had as many problems as me! Definately keep it though. Shit, I am and I am thinking about buying a gsx shell and fixing it too!

Go to a body shop and get a quote on how much it will cost to fix that shit. Then go to another one and get them to beat their price. Find the lowest one possible that does decent work and now you have a figure you can save up for. Just fix it dude, your car is worth it.

My car had mad dings and scratches so i brought it in for a makeover. Now it looks new again. keep it!

I would keep it, But I here you about problems.. My car had quite a few problems. People would be like your car is so nice.. I'm like no its really fubar. Like I was ready to sell it a few weeks ago. But I decided to find ways to get some money, and dump it into making the car reliable again. Anyway, once you start working on it more and fixing the problems you will have a better outlook on your car, and you'll have alot more pride. My car had mechanical issues yours has body issues. But I think you will feel even better once you have it looking better. I think you should a 97-99 Eclipse Conversion ;)

I have the money to fix up the body, I just dont think its gonna be cheap to fix the roof.... im gonna go get a pic right now

ok, so i counted all the dents on the car, besides the roof, there is about 20 of them, how much do you think it will cost to get them all taken out? They are all small.

Go to a body shop and get quotes, they will do it on the spot, and you don't have to even use them. Just give you and idea. Even so, depending on your location, just save up and get a full paint job, so the car is nice and fresh. To save some money, I am fixing all the shit on my car and primering it, hell if I can get a place to spray it I'll even give it a try. Another thought, if you have any free time this summer, sign up for a autobody class, you will probably be able to fix everything and even paint the car while there.
