85883, Painting the Engine Bay

I haven't gotten any repsonses anywhere else so maybe someone here can help me. I have my engine and transmission out and I am thinking about/wanting to paint the engine bay flat black. Has anyone on here done this? What else has to come out the bay and how hard is this for someone who has never done it before? I see alot of line that have to be removed, just want to make sure there is no ill affects by removing all this stuff to paint it. I am trying to figure out if i need to remove all the hard lines for the brake and the clutch as well as any steering stuff. For those of you who have done this, did you leave yours in and paint over it? Any help is appreciated.

I painted mine flat black. It was actually really easy the way I did it. I just painted over the hardlines. I took out the PS resovoir, ECU brackets(pulled ECU wiring over the fender with a bungee), pulled the hydrolic resovoirs up on the windsheild with bungees, and just moved everything else around while I was spraying. Heres an ok pic.
