no, lol...it'll only be half that color, and 2 others..I will post pics in like 2 months when it's done, but it will not look like any other paint job around here. Oh, this is my other eclipse that is replacing my current one.

no, the kandy is different than the passion, but...the paint scheme will be different..."whole car not purple"...lol.

If there's just a one inch square of that color on the car, it's going to make the whole car look fruity. I would seriously think about changing it.. maybe to a blue if that isn't one of your colors already.

If not, I can understand.

Oh man I laughed so hard when I read that. But I shouldn't. That's mean. But it's still not the final product. Maybe it could come out better looking? :shrug

That's a nice color, we just sprayed a hayabusa that color with silver and lime gold kandy graphics. it looks better in person.

You guys are great...lol. Thanks Eric, and silver is part of my idea. I'm glad someone can appreciate it from an artistic point of view as opposed to "purple means gay". It's definitely a wild color, and I didn't like purple on a car until I saw this paint up close. But I don't see what it looks like now, I have the final outcome of the paint job stuck in my head, and that makes me overlook negative feedback.
On a side note: all the guys at my shop were skeptical about it at first, and once they all saw it in it's present state- all liked the color. My boss just says: "Man, is that a Crazy color."

are you doing the paintwork yourself? i'm a painter that does a lot of custom work so i am always using wild colors for graphics and all so i def see it from an artistic point of view. don't worry about it, there are always skeptics when you are just starting a custom paint job. people come into my shop and see the beginning of one of my more intricate jobs and always ask how i'm gonna make that shit work but it always comes out sweet in the end.

They're just mad because their car is still a dull ass factory color :P

I honestly thought purple was a color no one would think to paint their car, male wise. Part of the reason why I went with the HOK kandy purple, I like to be unique and not copy others. Already went through 2 sets of rims cuz someone else had the ones I originally bought. Just my thing. I **might** change the color to the HOK kandy red over the winter now...

On another note, the pictures came out quite brilliant compared to mine. When I take pictures, the car looks more blue than purple because the base coat was blue, the kandy purple color is clear but gives the human eye the color effect of purple, blue, and pink.

I'm not upset or anthing, to each his or her own. But dude, I'd like to see your ass at the SO in 2 months. I'll race you.... if your up to having a chick kick your ass :P

1) His whole car isn't going to be that color.
2) It's not the same color.
3) Eclipse's come stock purple.

I can't wait to see it and I think its going to look great. The engine bay looks damn good so far! What color is the valve cover going to be?

I like it. yea I wouldn't do the whole car like that, but an engine bay like that is pretty clean looking. props to you for taking a risk on something like that

-Agression- The valve cover is undecided. It will either be polished or powdercoated silver.
-CrazyEclipse- I emailed you before I ever painted it and asked what color yours was. Mine is Passion Pearl, yours is Kandy purple over blue base which is TOTALLY different in person. The pics look more brilliant because thats the way the paint is...it's even better in person. I'd let you hand me my ass at the SO since you're turbo and I'm not(that's a no brainer), but the car won't be ready by then. You might not see my car painted for a little while anyway. Personal time is hard for me to come by. I'll be at the shootout next year for sure.

lady's and gentlemen Keep in mind that in the 70's it was okay to have {not your average color} on a car. Dodge had pink, purple, baby blue. And I would be willing to bet the GUY who bought the pink Dodge Challenger r\t Got laughed at quite a bit, That is until he handed them their asses on the street or track when he opened up the 426 hemi or the 440 six pack. Bottom line Don't make fujn of the guy who drives a pink or purple car, he may just blow your doors off, then what would everybody say "Dude you got beat by the pink car, you're such a bitch"

right on man. Plum crazy purple, sassygrass green, popsicle pink were the colors that defined Mopar. I say paint the whole car that color.
