When you right click it, it gives you h ttp://63.99.108.81/dcforum/DCForumID15/w ww.my97rs.homestead.com/files/new_shifter.jpg
Delete everything before www.my97rs....... so it'll look like this h ttp://w ww.my97rs.homestead.com/files/new_shifter.jpg
I put some spaces in so that the "X" box wont show up

Thatr's pretty sweet Tim, are you going to sell them? I havent' decided what I want to do with min eyet, but if you are making them... might go that route.

THAT is cool.. Make me one.. or do a write up on it..
A note on pics: you HAVE to use the http:// in front.. Else, it defaults to the URL of the board/site. A side effect of moving the actual page here. see: http:// .. it takes you to the web root on this provider.

8584, RE: FINALLY!!! New shifter ring done. Lookee see! Posted by CVedEclipse, Nov-25-01 01:35 PM
haha.. seems like you could make some good money if you decided to make and sell them. if it wasnt too hard to make, or if you could get them mass produced, than i think you could do pretty well. just an idea.
also, how does it look without the bag? i think it would look nice if it was just the stick, maybe polish/crome it??

8585, RE: FINALLY!!! New shifter ring done. Lookee see! Posted by tim97rs, Nov-25-01 01:55 PM
i origionaly had a plate instead of the boot(see my web sight) but it didnt fair to well because the vinyl i had over top of it got tore up. the other problem with an aluminum plate w/o covering is that it got scratched as hell and looked getto. plus with the bolts holding the ring on, it would make any type of plate not very functional.(at least with the ways ive thought of)
also, im not to sure making and selling them would be very cost effective in terms of asking price. i say this cause i did it all by hand, and it was time consuming(i could certainly cut it down now that i know a few things more) and its not machine perfect. it looks good in place, but its not true and square. i had to do a lot of the cutting with technicaly not proper tools.
I will do a write-up tomorrow for those who want to try it, and also do some cost estimating and try to get a ballpark price for those who dont want to do there own and see what everyones opinions are. thanks to everyone for all the nice comments, as well!
