Trust me when I say I would never give up my 2g for an evo but that's just because I love my car. But how many 2g race cars do you see? And I'm not just talking drag cars either. The evo is a world wide popular sports car, and with good reason. Those cars are amazing considering everything you get with them right out of the box. Sure you could spend $30,000+ on a 2g and make it fast as hell. But minimal mods on an evo will be right there with you. Maybe not in hp, but in everything else. I was reading in super street or sport compact car about how that evo broke a track record by like 6 seconds. This is like a 2 minute course, so to win by that much is unbelievable. I don't think a 2g will ever do that. But hey, maybe somebody will prove me wrong :shrug
