hey guys i just purchased 225/40/18's and i have airride so when i drop the car down the backs sit on the tires about an half to a quarter inch. i was wondering if anyone had pictures of rolled fenders on their car. i just wanted to see the outcome and if i like it. Of course im going to have to do something soon about this matter. if anyone has some suggestions drop a line. Cya

I dont understand what your asking for. Pics of rolled fenders? Im not sure if you think rolling your fenders means extending them out- (creating a fender flare). Rolling the fenders does not mean extending them. That metal "lip" on the inside of your fenders is what is rolled. It is bent up so it does not extend toward out your tire. I hope this is what your asking for. It does not show anything on the outside.

i just actually cut the whole steel lip out with a die cutter and then did some rust prevention on the bare metal. im slammed to the ground on 225/40/18's and they just tuck nicely up inside the fender now on big bumps. its fuckin beautiful.

rolling them is much more of a pain in the ass to just straight up cutting them out

Uh, most people roll their fenders by putting a baseball bat between the tire and the fender then slowly pushing the car backwards. How is that harder than using a die cutter and all those shennanigans?

have you tried it with a baseball bat aaron? its not exactly that easy. you jack up the car, then rest it on a baseball bat and move the car :eek...thats just ASKING to fuck up the rear fender. not like replacing a rear fender is very easy either :nono

it might take slightly longer to cut it out and rust prevent, but it turns out way better if you take your time on something and do it the most effective way anyway.

this is what i did, picture isnt the greatest but if you look...theres no fender lip at all.

What about the seam weld up there, Josh? That seam is there because it is, well, the junction of the floor pan and the fender panel. I'd be afraid of making a weak spot in the unibody by "trimming" a structural weld.

Next time everybody is under their car, take a look on the driver's side, in the rear fender. At the 2:00 position or so, there is a thick and heavy seam. Anybody care to venture a guess as to what happens if this is compromised? I don't, at least not with my own safety at stake if I am wrong.

THAT is the way to do it right.

i didnt cut the spot welds. the only reason for those welds anyway is to connect the inner fender liner with the outer fender liner. its by no means a strauctural weld, and its not like your suspension is going to collapse and make you crash or anything like that.

i romp my car VERY hard (ask anyone who's driven with me...(driggs...collente) and if I comprimised the structural integrity of the unibody by removing a lip...then i surely would have felt some reprocussions by now.

like i said though, i only removed a small section where the wheel would actually touch if it were to tuck into the fender.

i dont think its a big deal at all. just dont hack the shit out of it and you'll be fine.
