Ok i've been searching/working on this for the past 2-3 months. After my car got broken in to I decided to move everything around, and only keep the radio in sight. Its single din--which leaves a problem:

now that my boost controller/turbo timer aren't occupying that space, I need a clean single din install kit.

SO far I have tried
-The one from best buy
-chopping the one from best buy and putting in new screw holes
-covering completely the one from best buy w/aluminum trim just to hide the mis-matching
-filing down the HVAC control cover piece to fit said best buy kit

then said "Screw it"
and tried

-the one from Crutchfield
This one looks like complete ass---there's this huge (3/4") dead space above the reciever, but I followed the instructions to a T. Its also kinda warped from the manufacturer. Does anyone make high end kits for our cars?

Ideas?

Why not just use the stock single din setup? I have an aftermarket kit from crutchfield. Though I really like the setup, I believe the stock setup is the safest to protect your investment because the brackets are metal unlike these aftermarket kits that are made of plastic. So you cant really rip the headunit out of the dash or out of that metal bracket for that matter. The only way you are getting to it is if you are wise enough to understand how to dis-assemble our center console. And it could be a timley process for those not knowing what they are doing. I suggest just posting a WTB in the sale/wanted section and finding a stock mounting setup.

not to rain on your parade, but the reason I'm not using stock anymore is because the theives tore it open like it was butter. Now its all bent up. All they needed was the same prybar they used to get the window out, and by out I mean smashed.

Where would I find the METRA kit?

if not, I think i will do the WTB thing though---
