Get the black housing in that style. They are much mo better.

It is a pair of cheaply made headlights just like any other set of cheaply made headlights on eBay. You get what you pay for. They put out half the light of the OEM units and are of a cheap build quality as a general rule.

If you want projectors and you want to be bad ass, do a retrofit with some Audi projectors or something.

I don't have those exact ones but mine are a bit cheaply made, the housing seems flimsier than factory, light output is better than I thought it would be but less than factory, if you want brighter than stock projectors you'll probably have to fit aftermarket HIDs to them. They most likely don't just plug in to your factory harness as claimed, plus one of the LEDs in mine burned out after about 3 hours of use. They do however fit very well. azdave has a fantastic write up on eBay projectors

My opinion is that if you can't find some decent factory lights then these are a reasonable, workable substitute. However, they will be dimmer than factory lights (you might want to run with driving lights as well).
The two examples you linked to are different than the version I bought and seem to be similar in quality and price. The second set you linked to don't appear to be anything more than a high priced ebay light. I could be wrong but they sure don't post many detailed pics.

Ultimately, I was not happy with my ebay projectors until I installed a McCulloch HID kit. The beam pattern was reasonable but nothing like you will get with a true complete HID projector system (Hellas for instance)that come in Mercedes and Audis.

Not being one to leave things alone, I was able to open up my ebay lights and install (with great difficulty) some Hella E-55 Bi-Xenons that I was unable to get to fit inside my old factory light housings a year ago when I bought them. With a lot of work, I now have full HID projector lighting. This retro-fit was difficult and I would not recommend it unless you are adventuresome.

I have the same Projectors, and I can agree that ebay projectors are crap unless you have HIDs. I was unsatisfied with my projectors when I had regular halogens in there, bust as soon As I put the McCollouch HIDs in they were awesome. Could'nt be happier for the amount of money I spent on the whole thing. HIDs were $280, Lights came out to like $30 after I sold my stockers that made up for the difference in the cost. I can get some pictures if you want. Also I suggest that you get the black housing. I have chrome and it does look nice but it shoots of some glare. I will be repainting my housing a graphite/gunmetal color later this spring.

Also may I note that my angel eyes have zero issues and it was a direct plug in play. So if you plan to buy the ones you posted in here they are plug and play and you will have no problems with the install.

i have typical projectors with HID's in them. I'm happy with them. I've seen the projectors without HID's and the light output was so bad that i wouldnt even consider doing them...

These projectors come in two style both black and chrome. Notice how the bezels are NOT close to the front of the main clear lens. Everyone I have heard from says these are not "Plug and Play" even though the ad says they are. I had to cut some plugs out of my old lights. They also seems to have a 100% failure rate on the LED halo lights which is not simple to fix. They generally use H1 style bulbs on both high and low beam. You'll also need a couple of 1157 amber bulbs with a bayonet base from AutoZone.
Put true HID bulbs in these low beams and they aren't too bad but the angel eyes will still probably burn out in the first month. You use the normal Halogen H1 bulb, usually included, for the high beams.





These seem to be the better choice of the two main styles you see on ebay. Notice how the bezel extends out to nearly touch the main front clear lens. I've heard good reports that these are truely "Plug and Play" and that the halo LEDs are not prone to failure. These also come in black/black or chrome/black and sometimes with blueish tinted projector lenses. I haven't been inside of these lights but fellow 2gnters tell me they like them.




If you install an HID kit you'll need to find out the buld type for the housings you have when you order it. The angel eyes run independent of the headlights and most people wire them to the marker lights in bumper.

If you see the comments about me removing the angel eyes when I went to HID it was because I actually installed a completely different set of projectors in my housings since I had some Audi Bi-xenons already.

And is McCulloch the only HID kit worth installing or are there some other kits that will suffice? Thanks.

Oh I've got some blemishes. I drive this to work everyday on the mean streets of Mesa. :) That's the reason I was shopping for new headlights. Rocks!

I have experience with three different HID kits and the McCulloch was without a doubt the best. I currently am using a Hella system in the Audi projectors (E-55) since they were a package deal with the proper connectors, etc. I bought McCulloch from ebay seller "supervtec". Good guy. There are two or three others in the same price range. Don't get higher than the 6000K bulb color temperature. You actually lose light output and it doesn't look right. HIDs flicker blue and purple at a distance due to the effect of sharply cutting off the white light spectrum across the lens.
