That sucks. I've seen a rubbing compound on TV that's supposed to blend scratches away. It's probably a scam but it's worth a try. You never know. I would try that before spending serious money on repairs because you might have to have the fender repainted. Touch up paint might work but then again you have to know what your doing because new paint tends to be really dark compared to paint that has been exposed to the sun for a while.

it looks so horrible, especially because i keep my car really clean on the outside so its way more noticeble

If I were you, I would leave it. Whoever did it again will most likely see your fresh new painted fender and scratch it all over again. Might as well scratch the rest of the car yourself to keep them from getting the pleasure of doing it.

That shit annoys the hell out of me. Same shit happens to me and I talk to very few people. I keep to myself and mind my own god damn business but sometimes people just decide to fuck with my car. I don't get why they do it. Is it out of envy or something? Because if so I don't know why My car is nothing special and its old. Sorry to hear that bro, if you find out who did it I just recommend you leave it at that and dont do anything because things will get much worse for your car if they had the balls to do it the first time.





Yea.. so this is what happened to me last fall. Dont mind the date at the bottom of the picture my camera wasnt set correctly. But this is what some fuckin hater did to me, Left a nasty spot on my roof where it lifted the paint when the egg was thrown at it.. Crack in the windshield from the camballs soup can and all kinds of nicks in the paint on the drivers side door.

people just hate on my talon, seriously...i boss every rice burner and decently nice car around where i live, so i guess i naturally make enemies but fucking with someones car is just low and pathetic. my car is right out in the open though where i park at home, so its an easy target...

im sure as fuck not leaving it alone either, if theyre going to key it...theres nothing i can do about it. except do my best to fix it when it happens.

i dont really street race, i do however drive very spirited from time to time and its fun watching people try and keep up or wonder WTF just flew by. i dont 'race' because in all seriousness, it only takes about .2 seconds to pull a bus length on about 90% of cars from a roll. people just hate on the boosted talon.

i think seriously it was one of my roomates friends, theyre always wondering what im doing to the talon next and theyre always around talkin shit.

whatever though, any more ideas? touch up pen is my only option i think. i just gunna prep the paint hardcore and then blend it with some rubbing compound when it dries.

Seriously tho, if its just a couple scrapes, have a bodyshop take care of it. Shouldn't run you more than a couple hundred bucks.

Mine had about 80 feet of keymarks, so I just had the fucker resprayed.

whatever you do, dont go through insurance. WIth a typical deductable of 500, or even 250, your gonna have to pay that regardless, and it will be on your insurance loss runs.

Comprehensive Claims are never held a against you. Your right about the deductible part though. Comp and collision are two seperate coverages with two seperate deductibles. Most people dont realize that they can lower the comp(theft,Vandalism)deductible and leave collision at 500 for not much more premium. You could even have just comprehensive coverage w/out collision which is the expensive one.

dont use a paint pen. if your car is clean as hell, the pen streak is going to stand out and look like ass. just get a DA sander, sand it down, and repaint the right way. make it looks nice!

I agree with ^^^. Pop the fender off, use some wax remover, and DA it with some #400 until the scratches are gone. Take it somewhere and have them prime and shoot it for $100. They'll probaby buff it too.

find a used black fender

its not going to look right even if you blend it in with compound. rubbing compound dulls clear coat anyway :(

Well turby it can be fixed with a touch up paint from the dealer. i have done it many times with my z28 because i am so damn anal about knicks in the hood. Its a lot of work though

You need the paint matched touch up that you get from the dealer, you know the one that has the brush in it. What you do is lightly and real thinly dab paint into the scratch. can also use a razor blade to let the paint run down the blade into the scratch. Let it site for an hour and with 1500 grit wet/dry sand paper wet sand it out. You must be very gentle and use a shit load of soapy water. in case you never wetsanded get a soapy bucket of water and keep dipping the paper into it every couple seconds. Try to get the touch up paint smooth with the fender. be careful not to sand out the clear on the fender. the touch up pain should still be soft and wet sand out quick. once done get perfect-it III from a paint supply store and buff the fender to a shine.

It can be done and it is a lot of work.

You can also look in the phoen book for the guys that do airbrush repair for scratches, that is cheaper than painting the whole fender and it looks almost perfect.

ack that's fucked up. I had my car painted, and a fucking pigeon decided to crash on the front right fender right afterwards, and left talon marks over the front right fender. eclipse owned by the talons IMO

I've not had probs w/ people keying my car, but about 1/5 time I go visit my parents', the damn neighborhood kids keep steeling my tire nozzle caps for their bikes. GRrrrrrrrrrrrr... think I may start a collection of "replacements."

Some1 put shaving cream or toothepaste, don't remember, on my car back in my college days during a prank war (which I didn't start believe it or not). Bleached ALL my rubber moldings & black plastic on my exterior even though I pressure washed as soon as I found out. I was PISSED!

P.S.
Needless to say, that was the last prank they pulled on me... just get a bunch of buddies & a coup spools of duct tape, mummify them, and hang 'em upside down in their own room. ( Just make sure U cut the lights & wear masks ;) U can be as creative as your imagination lets you from there... "ah, the good 'ol days."
