I HATE THE PANAMA CITY BEACH POLICE

Alright, Long story short. The police in Panama City Beach are the biggest assholes I have ever met. They REFUSED to let our cars into the car show (Spring Fling Show this past Saturday in Panama City Beach, FL). REFUSED even after Vital Signs (the people running the show) told them we could come in. Made us so in a back way. And this is the result. Needless to say the front bumper is fucked and the car will be out of commision for a while to go to the body shop. The front bumper IS NOT fixable, and since the whole car is custom built, I have to custom build a whole new front bumper. This SUCKS!!! I still took Best Mitsubishi though. The judges didnt count the bumper against me because of what happened.

Here is a link to the pictures:

If it's the one in the avatar then I ought to smack the judge. Transformers! More than meets the eye.

John-
That fucking blows dood. how the hell did you crack the bumper that bad anyway?

also, i dont know if this will help you at all but i have the top center piece from my quwhees kit that im not using if you want to snake that from me. sorry about the probs tho bro. hate to see a widebody down :(

the piece missing is the one you could snake from me bro:

Yeah, the trailer sold about 3 weeks back along with my truck and motorcycle. What happened was the side way they sent us through had a dip that is not visable and I hit it without ever seeing it and the rest is history. There were about 8 cars that got severly damaged. one girl got her side skirt ripped off.

Mike, I appreciate the offer about the middle piece of the bumper. I will let you know, but I think I wont need it after all. Since the bumper is not fixable, I am using this as an excuse to completly redo the whole front end. Needless to say, when the car gets out of the shop, it will have something nobody has ever attempted to do. It will just take a lot of fabrication and a good body shop. I will keep you posted.

I am sorry to hear about your car man, some members of my car club went to that show I hope they didn't run into that same dip. I know how you are feeling, I recently got rear ended and am now waiting on getting it fixed.

I know you already know this, but don't listen to some of the immature people here on the board. They are gods special children!

Good luck with your new front end project. Keep us posted on the progress.

thats sux ass. that is one of the main reasons i had to get air ride. been there done that.

Posted by Extreme Eclipse, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
Guys, I appreciate all the kind words. I will keep you all posted as to what is in the works for the front end. As far as the air ride suspension is concerned, before I even consider putting a new bumper on, I am installing air ride so that this doesn't happen again. Unfortunatly I only had springs and this was the result. I am not a big fan of air ride, but it is a neccessity now. Again, thanks guys, I may post up some ideas for the front end to you guys later and get your feedback. I am trying to photoshop different front ends on the car to see how it looks. I'll keep you posted. Thanks again.

is that the quwhees quarter-panels on your car as well, or another widebody kit, or custom? i considered the quwhees rear fenders but wasnt sure how hard it'd be to remove those little bumps they have on them right behind the doors.

82700, RE: The WideBody Bites the Dust

The quarter panals on the rear are custom. We basically used a bomex rear bumper and had to custom build the entire rear fender in order to make the Bomex rear wider. Or else it would have never worked. That is when we incorporated the vent in the sides and extended the vents into the doors.

Panama City show was alright, alot of guys and trucks, some decent cars. Not very well organized though. Trying to figure out where all the girls were, it was 90% guys throughout PC.

The car should be up and running in time for HIN Atlanta in May. Trying to get it ready for HIN Orlando April 16 but that may be pushing it. We will see what happens.

I have decided to keep the same front bumper I have. I had an idea to change it to an extreme, but people didn't really care for the look and said it looked better the way it is now. Therefore, we are going to try and repair all the damage and go from there.

Thanks again guys.

The shop I used is Full EFX in Decatur, GA. Although, I would never reccomend them. The dicked me over for the longest time and had my car for 9 months. My car HAD to be ready for SEMA, he put it off until 3 days before I had to leave for vegas, rushed alot of the work, and ended up with a lot of problems. Stress Cracks, rushed paint job, fucker never put my gas door on, and a few things that are not very noticable but still there. Highly DO NOT reccomend. If you want a good shop, I have a contact at a shop near Woodstock, GA who does very good work and has already done 2 widebodies. He is the guy who will be doing the work on my car from now on. If you need the info, just hit me up and I can get you in touch with them.

Man thats not so bad... who ever molded it should have used different materials, but thats even hard for me to say that. There are so many products out there. I use a product called fibral by (upol). This stuff is incredible. After molding I try to break my pieces, and the end result is they don't break. I also use this to mold fiberglass to urathane, holds like a charm. From what I can tell easy fix. First you will have to clean up broke edges make them bigger. Then put them back in place using some kind of shim to hold the piece in correct proportion. And fiberglass them back together. 9x out of 10 that bumper will be stronger where it was fixed so I would rein force more areas on back side. For the price of that kit I don't know why they don't have a full front it would be more drivable then. Molding is nice but it's not really for cars you drive. If you have any questions PM me.

I appreciate the input, I have a shop who is going to do the repairs simply because I am sure I could do it myself but will just take a lot more time that I cant afford to lose. I have to have the car up and running for HIN Orlando or else my sponsors will get a little upset. The shop who is doing the work said they are using the strongest stuff they have in order to make the front bumper as stiff as possible. WE are also removing the CF splitters because it is causing too much stress on the bottom of the bumper. It is supposed to be CF but those things weigh a ton. I will keep you posted.

Since I have decided against the front end I was thinking about doing, I will post pictures up of the bumper. If anybody likes it and decides they want to try it, more power to you. It was an idea I had, got good feedback on, but people just like the bumper I have now better. check back later on tonight or tommarow and I should have pictures up of the front bumper I was gonna use. The photoshop job is HORRIBLE though, so don't laugh too hard at my effort, but you will get the idea.

Sorry guys. Things have been crazy. Long story short, the bumper was not fixable. Therefore, I had to buy a new bumper and it is getting fabricated now. It is supposed to be ready by Thursday and will debut again in the Dunlop Tires booth at HIN Charlotte Sat night.

In regards to the pictures I was gonna post my bad bro, I will have thme posted in the next 15 min. Sorry again.

Alright guys here is a link to the pictures of the bumper I was thinking about using. It would have taken a lot of fabrication and cost me an arm, a leg, and probably my first born child, BUT it has never been done before. Again, dont make fun of my photoshop. HAHAHAHA!! IF somebody knows how to post the pictures, feel free, I just have no idea how to do it on this forum.

the veilside 350Z bumper??? go for it, I imagine it would look pretty good. might just be better off building a replica from scratch though, instead of paying for a veilside bumper ($$$$$) and then cutting it up ($$$$$) and modifying it to fit the car ($$$$$).

Yes, its the VeilSide 350Z wide body kit. The bumper alone is $800. I have decided to pass on this bumper though. Thought it would be kind of cool, but way too much $$$.

Wait, so you got mad at some cops following orders not to let anyone through a certain gate, then drove too fast through an alley, in a car lowered to 1" above the ground, hit a pothole and ripped off your fiberglass bumper? Were the cops driving the car or were you?

Does this mean you're not raffling off the car for charity anymore?

No. The cops were not allowing cars into the show. Period! The car was already registared, and the people running the show told me to pull the car in. However, the cops were the ones at the entrance to roll into the show. The cops said that they didn't care what the show people said, they were not letting me in (I have no idea why). Anyway, the only way we could get into the show was a side entrance. 1/2 way through the side entrance here come the cops, basically telling me I had to move my car. They ended up making me go another way which had a hidden hole (All the grass was level so the deep hole was concealed). End result, my car eating the whole and shattering the bumper. Trust me, it was obviously a direct result of the cops being assholes. Even the people running the show saw everything happen and about 6 other cars were severely damaged. They took photos of everything and filed a complaint with the PC Beach dept and also passed it onto their attorny. Very hard to explain but clearly a direct result of the police. Cobb County, GA police= cool as shit, GA State Troopers = cool as shit, Las Vegas Police= REALLY cool as shit, Panama City Beach Police= The biggest Dicks ever!!! Ok I am done venting now. HAHAHAHAHA!!! Nothing I can do about it now.

Car will be raffled off at the end of the year. A direct result of sponsorship contracts I have right now. The car is constantly having shit added to it. I just added Racing Seats, Steering Wheel, and the car goes in the shop at the end of May for a full custom made turbo kit installation and dyno tune. When it is raffled, it will be a complete car and the perfect show winner for the winner.
