lol I saw this today at the door and was like oh hell yea. I guess a running yard is quite a bit and I ordered 2.What you see in the pics is like a third of the role. Will post up some of the completed work by the end of the week. Hopefully my hood will be here by then also.

Yea its the same color as the hood. Funny story, the guys making the hood for me didn't have enough green left and the supplier they used is gone, so they bought from the company I did after I told them where I got mine. So yea I'm thinking its going to be a good match. Got it from here blizare man, and dj420a your still getting a great deal. I paid 29.50 running yrd. http://www.shopmaninc.com/hybrids.html

I only started with 2 overlays tonight, I won't be able to make molds till probablly after the weekend for some of the trim parts I want to do so I just did these two as an overlay . I couldn't keep looking at it sitting there and had to do something. I overlayed the gas lid and the glovebox. They look so much better in person and have a tight ass fit on the edges (coated tinfoil kicks ass) and before aaron asks yes the lines are straight lol, even in the first coat they look great and the green looks so "deep" if thats the right word. When there complete I will get pics in a much better light to see how good they look.

He's half-dericing the car. Green CF is 1000% better than White paint.

The day after is not to shabby at all.(well 9 hours later) A little while longer and I will trim the excess and second coat/even out the rest and I will be good to clear them probably by the weekend. Im to cheap to crank the heat up so my dry time is in the 60 degree range and I give myself some extra cup time going light on the hardner.

Looks like it's going to look like regular CF in certain angles in the sun/light.

only until the tint is added in the next coat. But yea at certain angles it look like reg but you still see the green its just kinda deep right now. I will try and take a pic later without the flash so the green shows up more.

A few more pics through the stages today, The glovebox is taken a little longer but will be done tomorrow as well. As far as the gas lid a quick sand and buff in the am and its all good to be cleared. I was tempted to leave it the way it is as it looks great, but I saw a couple spots on the bottom edge I wanted to fix.
Trimming the extra off the back.

All trimmed and ready for its first sand before second coat

bleh

And the lid about an hour ago

It looks better in person as I can't even get my car to get its color right in the pics lol, but the lid is green and so is my car. I did find a way to make things come out more emerald green though lol just not on this lid, its all good though because I picked up a few more. This one came out more forest green "in person".

Alright so I after messing around to get a true green look i finally got what I wanted. Lol I used the new lid i bought today and made myself another one just the way i wanted with a real nice green show through.Should be ready tomorrow sometime.

And the glovebox in its first coat is the shade i was after in the first place. I have a few test covers now good for molds lol.

And when this one is finished tonight/tomorrow this is the one thats staying. Still has alot of work to go.

Yea on certain angles, Im hoping it goes away after a deeper coat or its to the scrap pile. I think I know what happened, I had the basement door open to bring some stuff in and cold air blew on the GB and clouded it up during its first set .
Edit: yea its going away, it clouded. I just did another tint coat to offset it. One more and it will look good an no splotchs

I would def. be willing to buy one of the fuel doors from you...Or learn your techniques...I think some green carbon fiber (looking) parts on my car would be niiiice.

82566, RE: there done ! Posted by madhatter210, Mar-13-05 01:31 PM
Well there done and on, I still need to blow the dust off the lock (pics will be in write up) But they look sweet on (the fuel lid this time around).Door panels are next along with the console lid and dash trim and a cf hood I bought with a bad clearcoat/getting a green overlay. Now if I could only get the car to look green at night. I'll see if daytime pics with no flash come out better as they look alot better in person in real light.
