Anyone find anyplace besides Mach V that's got a good deal on high quality hatch struts? I think the Mach V ones are OEM. Or did anyone find any that are better than stock? I'm getting tired of resting the hatch on my head so I was wondering what you guys's experience has been with replacement struts and whatnot. Ok TIA!

Oh yea I'm wingless now but I've got a WW commando wing to throw on eventually... I'd like to get struts that can handle the wing... :P

I think you should put a turbo wing on.. Don't rice it.. How about a linear actuator }( That would be badass. Add that to your Viper alarm

lol that would be fun but from what i understand it's a major PITA. i wish i could remember who did it... i know it was a lot of custom fabrication though. i think even the actuator had to be custom built. besides, i have a power antenna and a commando wing. the antenna goes through the wing when extended. i already have the trunk rigged to lower the antenna when it's popped but if i were to use a linear actuator i'd hafta setup a delay to allow the antenna to lower before raising the hatch... it'd be neat but quite complicated.

Shave the antennae and do a turbo wing :P Thats what im doing.. I use the antennae integrated into the hatch glass. Works excellent.

no glass antenna on my car :(

sorry turbo wing's just not my thing. planning on getting a kit eventually and it just won't flow.

Here's your solution...

I bought hatch struts from NAPA Auto Parts in Phoenix for under $70 for the pair. Look just like factory and work excellent!
There are different past numbers for right and left strut since they have the lower bracket permanently attached just like factory struts.

Helpful enough?

Now Frank, you know it depends on the application. His car is stock bodied so thats why I dont think he should put that wing on. Though since he said he is kitting the car its ok now. Also may I note, there are cars that the turbo wing still looks good on when kitted. Take Ryan's car for example..

www.Partsamerica.com also has the struts for our cars... Reasonably priced (cheaper than Satan)

...y'know, just for the sake of asking, why exactly dont you want to go with a direct oem replacement? i'm sure anything aftermarket will be identical... you have any other reason ...aside from price maybe... that you'd want to go aftermarket?
