80909, Signal Light Posted by Sceptre, Jan-26-05 01:37 AM
just picked up a 95 Talon and it has a passenger side signal light missing out of the housing. I went to get a light for it but they keep trying to sell me a bulb. However, on the back of the housing, there is a hole similar to a headlight bulb where a base needs to snap into it...all i have on the car is a harness and an open hole.
do I need to try to track down a base for it and put the bulb in it, or is it all one unit?
thanks for any info

I'm confused. Is this like the side marker light or the signal in the headlight housing? I didn't know they came apart...

its the signal/park light thats in the headlight housing. theres just a hole there with nothing to actually put a bulb in

if its anything like my 97 eclipse then you need a base for the bulb to attach to. you might be able to get away with stealing a bulb holder from another part of the dash, for instance my car had a light that told me when my windshield washer was low so i took that, since i dont really care if that one lights up or not.
know what i mean?

the harness is what snaps into the hole. The bulb goes in the harness and the harness just twists in. the bulb you need is the 1157 (i'm almost positive). Its just a normal dual filiment(sp?) bulb

he isnt talking about his blinker INDICATOR. there is no "harness" for that. those are just a simple twist in base. he's talking about his actual turn signal...the one that everyone else sees
yes, there is a base or "boot" all bulbs on car have them. whoever removed the bulb took the base along with it. youll need a base (may can score one at auto parts store) or youll have to buy one from satan or buy one from someone with a parts car. either way, you have to have it. then youll need a standard 1157 dual fillament bulb that pops right in. plug in the harness and your good to go.
