The linkage on my drivers side door is getting a bit sloppy, so i figured this would be a good time to look into getting door poppers and shaving the handles... anyone know of any good kits or sits or maybe body shops in south east michigan?

well, someone always comes along and says it..so i guess it will be my turn.

just because your handles break, or the linkage is getting sloppy...is no reason to shave your handles and go with poppers. some things to consider before you do this.

1. GOOD kits are sorta expensive
2. GOOD body work is gonna be expensive
3. shaved handles are illegal in many states
4. shaved handles are illegal on MOST tracks

if your planning on going all out show then shaved doors are ok, but just to not have to mess with mech handles...is no reason to shave them on the average daily driver. just my .02

Really? Wow. I seriously didn't know that. Interesting, you learn something new everyday. I never really researched it when I decided to get mine.

He is right about the body work though, it is not a cheap thing to do. You are looking at about $750-$1300 to have it dont right and have a quality kit.

huh wow... yeah, i didn't know any of that either about being illegal... you know where i can find what states its illegal in?

And as for the body work being expensive, i used to work at a car dealership, and one of the guys in the bump shop said he could do it for about 300 / door since we were good friends.... and he does good work ^^

i agree with John... auto loc makes some great products...
also make sure u get the right solenoid for the poppers, remember our doors or fairly heavy and the weight distribution is different because our doors are longer compaired to other cars i.e. a civic

You think a 75lb solenoin would be good, or do you think i'd have to go for the 100lb, or could i pass with a 50lb?... i'm think 75 would be good...

i used a 50 with out a popper the door opens slightly on its own..
