I was wondering about taking off the wing and shaving the back on my eclipse (1997 gs) and wanted to ask if its worth the money, its going to cost me around 300-400 dollars (including painting), I really like how it looks though... any opinions?

Wingless 2G's look great. You're probably going to get a lot of people telling you to get the turbo wing though.

I, for one, dislike MOST wingless DSMs, the turbo spoiler is good though :thumbsup (but then again, being one with a turbo spoiler anyway, i'm biased, oh well :p )

I think the turbo wing looks sooo stupid. But I'm not a fan of big spoilers. When you look at some of the best looking exotics out there, not many have spoilers let alone big ones.

I'm not picky, just as long as there is some kind of spoiler there... but even in the Exotics...my favorite has always been(since I was like 11) a Lambo. Countach..and that thing has a spoiler that rivals the SR-71 Blackbird :/ Spoilers CAN be stylish..you just have to find out what works well with that style spoiler...like..IMO, the F&F Eclipse woulda been nice if it was a different color and with different graphics, the blitz kit and that APR spoiler works well together to give an aggressive look, but useless as far as performance..unless you've got a GSX that you wanna road race....

I think wingless looks very clean with some Eclipses, but others I think it really takes away from the lines in of the body and makes it lose it's sport car curves. I have always been a fan of the turbo spoiler and have never seen an Eclipse I didn't like it on.

I for one like the turbo wing alot, and hope to get it put on my car eventually. But I will throw in one note to you. If you decide to make your car wingless, I think you should shave the rear wiper too. Thats just my opinion.. Shave that, shave the antennae and the windshield squirter maybe just put the a whip style antennae where the squirter is, I have a friend who did that with his eclipse.

I've only seen a couple of eclipses that wingless looked good on. I like my "turbo" wing. :P
