Not the #74s that the gauge cluster use, but the tiny bulbs behind some of the control buttons, like the auto mirrors, cruise control, etc. Are these availalbe in colors anywhere? does anyone know what size these are?

i've been searching, couldnt find anything.

Thats exactly what I did. With a little patience and a soldering iron, you can get all those lights replaced with LEDs, even in the moving buttons.
It takes a while and make sure you concentrate on how the button comes apart so you can get em back together again. Some of the buttons you might need to melt the surrounding plastic a little, to get the led to lay flat, but its not hard, just time consuming.

Yah, Ive soldered a couple so far, its just a pain in the ass so i was looking for an easier way. Soldering the LED is easy but I had to inline a resister as well to keep from blowing the led up. Did you have to do that? Or did i get the wrong type of LED maybe? Im trying to replace the smallest bulbs, you know the ones with the black or gray holder that screw out.

No you need an inline resistor. I did it and it was a bitch but it sure did look purdy when I was done. I think the Cruise Control button was the worst!
