80198, Water getting in engine from Xtreme GT Hood, How to cover vents?

Well lately it has been pouring rain over here in So. Cali and I didnt think it would be a problem with the small vents on the hood but when it leaks through it gets the mani and the filter drenched in water since the filter is right there from the turbo. Well my engine sucked in tons of water and wasnt running the last couple of days, all the water is out now from running it and letting the water evap. but its tsill raing here and cant driv my car, is there any wya to cover the vents, what do u think is the best way to cover the, I dont really wanna put like duck tape on the underside cuz I am afraid it will melt cuz of the tremendoes amount of heat, any new suggestions of something taht will work and look halfway decent..? Please Help

email VIS and ask them, the EVO hoods were REALLY bad for it and they made rain guards for those...so maybe you could be in luck...

Since it "usually" doesn't rain much, I would just sacrifice the looks of the car by putting plastic over the vents. Thick plastic from heavy-duty trash bags would probably work well. I would surround the vents with masking tape (directly on the painted hood) and then use duct tape over that. It'll look really ugly, but at least you can drive. Trying to cover the holes up from under the hood won't work well because the water will still get around it.

put a cover on your filter? somethin similar to a heat shield. maybe just stick a coffee can or somethin over it. it'll prolly hinder your performance by restricting the air but then suckin up water is probably worse.

here is what all the evos have to not let too much rain into the engine bay. it's just a vent that kind of looks like blinds. stock is black so you can't even really see it. this one is just silver with a ralliart logo on it.
