79795, Playa's with the invader hood....... Posted by DJ420a, Dec-25-04 12:19 PM
I have an OEM CF hood and it got a spider crack on it for Xmas. I think I know why. My Tial wastegate sticks so far up, Id be suprised if its not hitting the hood. So I figure, freezing PA mornings with an ice cold CF hood and a hot Tial WG dont mix. My question is, do you think if I bought an invader hood it would take care of this prob, considering where the WG is sitting? Check out the pick below and tell me what you guys think.

are you using the heat shield thing that the oem hood had on the bottom of it? cuz i am using the same WG as you and my tial comes super close to the bottom of the hood but i used the factory heat shield thing on the bottom of my cf hood for a year now and have zero probs with spyder crackin.

sorry if this is late I've been busy... but my guess would be hell ya it would help. Thats what the invader hood is made for... turbos. the vent lets a LOT of heat out of the hood so you shouldn't have any problems with heat effecting the hood. hope this helps even further even though you already found out what to do.... :P I'm goin home...

From what I can see with my hood you should have plenty of room for the WG to clear. I would still recommend putting in the heat resistant padding from the stock hood! Better safe then sorry!
