79413, best way to remove the check engine light bulb Posted by ryansiefring, Dec-13-04 04:37 AM
I did a search for this and did not come up with anything. Could someone tell me the best way to remove the bulb? After I removed my egr valve, it will not turn off, even after I put the resistor in it.

just pull straight out. it will be a snug fit into the harness but as long as u have the 2 screws in the front and the 2 in the top it will come out. gl

thing is, how will you pass inspection man? its gotta turn on then shut off for that. a short term solution, which is what i did for my inspection. unhook the battery for 15 seconds, then connect it back up. the light will be gone, temporarily. so u can pass inspection and still have no egr.

i don't have to pas inspection where i live for now. i get the code just a few seconds after i drive the car. i don't think that will work. I tried the resistor thing and it wouldn't clear the code. if anyone has a egr valve let me know maybe i could try reinstalling just hat and see if it works.
or maybe the code is for something else too. who knows. thanks

yeah...snap in the bottom...one on each side of the steering colum. I find it helpful to put a smaller screw driver in between the bezel and the dash and gently pry the bezel out.
