I haven't gotten them yet so I didn't get a chance to look at them. I know I have to drill holes and use the clip things but for extra help, does anyone know of a write up on how to mount side skirts? If one doesn't exist and someone can give me step by step directions so I can get through it I will follow them and then take pics and do a write up. Oh yeah, I did try a search and didn't get anything so please don't yell at me to try one. Thanks for the help guys.

Oh hell yes, I am the man to ask for this project....
Once you get the skirts, follow these easy steps....

1-Hold up the skirts and trace around them to see where you are going to need to glue them on.
2- Get some 80 grit paper, coarse as hell, and sand down like hell until you get to bare ass metal.
3- Obviously yuo just sanded down your tracing marks, so what the hell, do it again.
4- Mix up a shitload and dood i mean shitload of BONDO body filler.
5-Start slapping that shitload of bondo all around and around the lines you made.
6- Press those skirts up and on lining them up carefully.
7- Have a buddy duct tape them on so they dont move while the bondo is drying.
8-Make a quick run up to home depot and get like 30 black drywall screws.
9- Go back home, drink a bud light or 2 or 3 or hell the whole 12 pack.
10- Drill some holes in some random places and screw those damn dry wall screws through the skirts into the car.
11-your done!
12- prime them then paint them.

did you really just tell this guy the best way to apply side skirts is by glueing them with bondo and a few dry wall screws?

I hate being faux-mod but this shit pisses me off.

get some touch up paint from pepboys and cover the end of hte plastic popper things with the paint and press them against the side of the car when the paints still wet, it will tell you where you need to drill holes in order to put hte stock sideskirts on.

if your using aftermarket sideskirts, just use woodscrews

Ben's picture was exactly what I did, except where the skirt goes over the quarter. I fiberglassed a bolt into the skirt and drilled a hole into the car (Warning: add proper corrosion protection in and around the hole, if you don't, you're fucking retarded) then put a nut on the inside, tighten, repeat for other side. You'll have to take your interior trim out. Oh yeah, and the plastic popper things Ben was talking about are "plastic rivets." It wouldn't hurt to put a line of glue on the top of where it over laps the fender and quarter. Fusor is a really good product. Or if you wanna be cheap, 3M makes some good two sided tape.

i actually just used the touchup paint that i used for the markings. worked fine for me, but i live in texas and have never even seen rust on a car in this state

Take it to someone who knows what they are doing. Otherwise it will look like you did it yourself, and if you have to ask how to do it, obviously you can't.

False. I 'asked' on how to put a widebody kit on, and i did it, easily! You can do anything truly, even if you dont know exactly what your doing, lol.

tim, hell no thats now how i told him to do it, with bondo and shit, thats why the second post me i said i kidding with him and to follow those steps. thats why in the second post, i took a pic from the factory service manual, showing him every single plate that screws and whatever the hell else is supposed to be drilled in in the exact places!

when i had my gst skirts all i did was use some wide strips of 2way tape for along the door and then put bolts thru the end parts where the mudflaps would be....then connect the 2 parts of the skirts with 2 way tape...

for the door caps i just taped em

Okay....my method....

1)Jack up the car
2)Remove the wheels on that side
3)Get a friend
4)Open the door
5)Hold up the skirts just how you want them.
6)Inside of each fender well drill a hole through the skirt and continue the bit through the 'lip' on the inside of the fender well.
7)Use a decent sized screw and screw through the hole you just made to secure the skirt to the car.
8)Repeat hole process for the front fender well.
9)Put the wheels back on.

If necessary, in the door jamb, under the door, there should be room to drill an extra hole through the skirt into the car. It isn't visible because it is under the door jamb. Run a flat headed screw there so the door doesn't catch it...the skirts should now be on pretty darn well, at least mine are and thats how mine is.

Here are pics from a few months back when I took some pics of mine. The screw under the doorjamb is actually a rivit and not a screw - but a screw works. I just changed to a rivit because and every now and then the screw would barely catch the door as it closed and make a squeak noise.

(My car was really dirty...)

on my widebody, i used SEM glue to glue the insides along the door seem under the actual door and pop rivets, then filled over top of them. then the normal 2 bolt in the mud flaps into the fender and quarter. that sem glue shit is really strong, but really expensive ...$37 a bottle and it doesnt last too long, plus another $50 the punch gun for it.

So Ryan those three screws are the only thing holding your skirts on? If so that seems easy enough. Thanks to everyone for the help. If Ryan's way doesn't work I will use the other ones in this thread. The pics from the manual will help. Pts to everyone for the assistance.

What size screw length did you use through the door jamb Ryan? I would like to add this to secure my skirts on.
