Heres some pics I got of the body work i've been doing, I'm just gonna keep it in primer till i can get more money for new fenders and gst side skirts. The Expoxy primer has somehwat of a gloss to it so it don;t look as bad. This all started with a the door handle breaking, then got into what it is now. It will be black still

Things done
- Shaved emblem on the front bumper
- Shaved door handles
- Removed 3 piece spoiler (filled all the holes
- Removed the antenna
I did shave the roof but I ended up undoing it cause it kinda looked to plan to me.

Looks great, don't look like primer at all. What kind is that? I am doing body work and I rather not have the yellow or grey primer driving all around town...

its ppg's expoxy primer...in person it looks just like light grey paint.. the head lights i got from ebay

There is something about that car being primer gray I like... I don't know why. I think fast cars that are primer or non-gloss finished are badass. BANME!.

Wow I cant believe I started this in 2004 and here is 2009 and finally posting again! Anyhow I ended up holding off on paint decided that a built motor with turbo is better then a paint job, so now here she is with some paint. I still have to pick up aome flex addative for the bumpers, paint the wing and either get new side skirts or fix the old ones. Let me know what ya think.

Thanks, Yea I'm kinda broke and believe it or not its been working pretty damn good.

Looks good! Kinda makes me sad...lol... looks just like mine did and I took the shell to the junk yard yesterday.

I hope my paint looks that good, at least I won't be going black (might as well be though)

Its just a egay one 31"x3"x11.5 I think, With how much I bottom out at places it doesnt seem worth it to buy a name brand one. Did you just paint yours black? Im gonna be going to the all black look.

I used radiator paint, b/c it has the proper heat transferring characteristics. You can also have IC's anodized with a special coating, but that is pricey and the real-world efficiency gains over radiator paint are negligible. Does stand up to road debris better, however. Sport compact had a good discussion on this issue a couple years back - it's worth googling.

Mazda Highland Green. VERY dark green. It won't be my first paint job, but it will be my first time doing a full colorsand and polish. Everything else that I've painted was fiberglass racecar body parts and you really don't bother with much prep/finish work because it's just gonna get banged up again in a few sessions

It should come out good then if you painted before. Im very surprised with how mine came out for a first time. I was kinda iffy on doing black but it wasnt hard at all. Just alot of prep. Good luck with it, I like the green.

You know I dont really remeber which brand, I know i have an auto loc one but on the passneger side I have a ebay one that i replaced the auto loc one with. I did them yrs ago and dont really remeber. I will be doing them over soon.

Well I haven't been able to paint anymore parts, I was able to try out some Menzerna Polishing Compound, along with Blue Ribbon Black Beauty, followed by Meguiar's NXT. I have the car back at my house. So now I have room to paint the bumpers, side skirts, and spoiler back at my moms garage. Heres some pics of the progress.

Is there some pearl in that black? The first pic looks that way.
