Yes, you just have to get the right size bulbs.

Anyone know of a good 8000k distributor? I was thinking Hanabi but I can't find their products anywhere...and in the other post a guy mentioned a ballasts breaking, anyone had any problems with these kits?

I didn't have a problem with the Hanabi kit but I did get ticketed for the light being "too blue".

I have purchased and used three different sets of HID's in the last year on various cars and the link below to the ones this guys sells are by far the best I've seen for under $300. Shipping cost is fair too. Name brand ballasts by McCulloch and the wires sets are plenty long for convenience. You just need to know your bulb type and temperature. My experience is that the 6000K temp bulbs have that very slight purple tint everyone likes without looking excessively purple.

I'm not sure he offers H3 bulbs and I think a lot of the aftermarket projectors use those but not sure.

Drivers side ballast mounted on frame rail behind bumper. Safe, solid and not taking up room in the engine compartment.

Drivers side starter mounted with two-side foam tape below fusebox area.

the temp we're talking about is not referring to the temperature of the bulb - it refers to the COLOR of the light output. HID's run a lot cooler than regular halogen bulbs. that's why they consume less energy. less power is being wasted in producing heat.

I currently have a McCulloch HID conversion kit (9006) in my slightly modified factory housings which works very well but requires care to be sure you aren't blinding everyone with stray light above the cut off line. The conversion I am working on, as I have time, involves fitting an Audi Bi-Xenon system from a parts car into stock housings. I had seen something similar done before http://home.gwu.edu/~nloke/eclipsehidretro.html
but it is quite difficult to fit. I think a good aftermarket projector with (most use H3 bulbs) a good HID system is the best bet for those who are not as adventuresome as I am. See this thread http://www.dsmtalk.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=55195 on DSMtalk and specifically the two posts by "mr D" about different ebay projectors he has tried and the final set he has installed with the McCulloch HID kit.

If I ever finish the Audi bi-xenon I'll post the info but for now my house remodel is getting my attention.

Damn if that ain't the truth! We hardly ever see this guy. One of the cleanest cars around and you should see what he's done with LEDs. Amazing. If you check out his website (rcaz or something in his sig/profile), you can find a sample of the types of write ups Dave does (like how to remove the front bumper all smooth-like). :thumbsup
