7680, foglights and fiberglass front Posted by EvMan2345, Nov-01-01 12:57 AM
I just got a new fiberglass bumper and i wanted to put foglights on. I was wondering if its ok to drill a small hole in the bumper to mount them- or would the 'glass crack from that???

Vhich bumper do you have? I have the sensei front bumper and I do not think I would mount the lights to the bumper. That is a bas way to go. I did that and the lights shook with the bumper. I would take the bumper off and see if there is a place to mount the lights to the frame. That is what I did and I am much happier with the lights.

The weight of the fog lights on one pressure point on the fiberglass bumper may crack it. Do not directly attach fogs to your bumper. Make a bracket of some sort to drill into, even if it's just an L bracket that is attached to some secure part of the car. Well, maybe if you found a way to mount it so it didn't put too much pressure it might be possible to directly attach to the bumper, but I would not recommend it.
