free shipping on all those hoods... read around, it's there, unless they stopped that offer sometime today or yesterday.

If you're not getting VIS then make sure it wraps around and isn't just cut. Make sure they don't have a restocking fee becuase I see problems with no name brands.

whats the point of getting the cf if you are gonna paint match it to the car? the weight difference between a cf hood and the oem hood arent anything great from what ive heard so most people are just getting the cf hood for its looks.

I ordered mine, the edges are rolled. Also it was free shipping. It says that on there home page.

I will get pics when I get it, 5-7 business days.

We'll see if I want to paint it red. The weight difference is 40lbs difference. I understand what your saying though Super20g. I want to keep the red clean loo.

is it really 40 lbs? thats more than i thought it would be. id still keep the cf look to it. if you want red than stick with the stocker imo. your car will look hot regardless.

glass hoods, or at least the ones i've had experience with, are even lighter then the cf ones. But yes, there is a signifigant weight loss over the OEM hood...so this means you can keep drinking beer and still be around teh normal weight :thumbsup

Yeah, that's what I meant, my hood is HEAVY AS SHIT compared to friends w/ cf hoods... i have wanted to get a cf and paint it stock red for awhile now... but the mod $$ keeps flowing under the hood and not around the rest of the car, hehe

Jarad dont paint it red.. My friend got his painted when he had his gsx.. It looked awful.. It was more of a darker candy red than a red that matched the car. If I find the pics I'll show yea.

If you want to paint it use the reddish clear coat that is part of a candy color process... I'm not sure exactly how candy works but I think it is a solid basecoat (say, a vibrant red), a slightly different colored clear (a slightly darker red), and then a regular clear over the whole thing. Use the colored clear that gives the paint the candy finish, give the hood to a good body shop, and get them to paint it for you. It's fully transparent so you will still be able to see the weave of the hood clearly, but it turns nice and red so it could still match your car to a degree.
But painting something like that costs a fortune :)
