quick question... i've seen it before, but cannot find it in the search function....

I've heard that the bottom bolt is a bitch to get to so some people just snap it off?

i'm pretty sure that chiltons has where the bolts are located, but can anybody offer any advice that will make this as quick and painless as possible? should I just yank on the headlight until that bottom bracket snaps? will it cause the headlight to bounce around when driving?

ey the bottom bolt is around 3 inches to the left of the center on the headlights...just take a socket and an extension and have someone push down on the front bumper enough so you can wedge it in there. and unbolt it...or take off your front bumper. One of mine was allready unbolted when I got the car.

you cant remove the front bumper with the headlights on. There are plastic clip/screw things that are directly under the headlights. Snap the bottom bolts off and you will only need to use 3 the rest of your life. I can pull both headlights off in about 5 minutes now. Or atleast just never put that bolt back in if you dont snap it off. Either way, 3 bolts works fine for me.

I just shoved an extention in there, and put my hand down in front of the radiator, found the bolt, and then took it off. And Yeah, leave them off. However one of my lights is only held in by 2 bolts know. I tried taking off the bumper, but all my bolts started breaking. The worst part for my was putting the lights back in though, I broke my fingernail almost completely off, lol. It helps if the socket swivels too.

got it.... those fuckers are HARD!!! they won't be anymore... fuck those bottom bolts. they are going in my spare bolt pile.

For future reference (in case someone finds this later during a search).

Pull the bumper and save possible damage to the bumper, headlight housing and yourself. When you re-install the lights later you can decide whether or not to re-install the bolt on the bottom that is hard to access. You can also decide whether to take out the two plastic screws that attach the bumper skin to the bumper support. These two are under the headlight when installed and prevent you from pulling only the bumper skin during future front end work.
