76086, What in the F is wrong with my windows and door locks? Posted by 97eclips, Aug-18-04 07:23 PM
Here's a weird one. Neither my power door locks nor windows work for no apparent reason. I screwed around under the hood on the passenger side (fiddling with the damn belts) only to return to the cabin and realize that now the switches on the doors don't work. The keyless entry and alarm still operate the door locks but the door switches don't work. Oh yeah, the passenger side door lock switch DOES work. WTF? Neither power window switch works.
Someone please help me...its hot and you can't drive on the oceanfront with the windows up!

check the fuses
check the relays.
if none of the above, take off your panels and check for loose connections.
*edit - do you hear clicking in the dash?

I guarentee its a loose connection. Mine just had those same symptoms and it ended up being the wires loose to the connector that comes directly out of the motor and plugs into your door window/locks controller. Just make sure none of those are loose and also when checking it make sure both of the controllers are plugged in as well. Both have to make their connection in order for the passenger side to work. The driver side can be checked without the passenger side controller plugged in but to check the passenger side both have to have their connection.
Hope this helps.

76113, Fixed...now starting new fiberglass interior project. Posted by 97eclips, Aug-20-04 03:24 PM
Thanks so much guys. It turns out exactly as you said, as the connectors in the driver door fell off as I removed the skin. I would have never checked that since I hadn't been fooling around with the doors lately. Kinda odd. Now I can cruise around the oceanfront windows down like it was meant to be.
Now it's time to play around with this fiberglass resin and my interior. I'm thinking sometihng like this but with black where he has gold and the factory dark red (cayenne red maybe?)where he has black. What do you all think? Any suggestions?
