75483, Arm rest lid doesnt fit. Differant model ? Posted by brokenrodguy, Jul-29-04 06:14 PM
I bought my 2g with a storage hole in my center console, so I though a lid goes over it.
I picked up a lid from ebay and now it looks like its too big to cover it and the hinges have no where to go.
This is my lid http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7911499727&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT
What im trying to cover: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7911246483&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT
Am I doing something stupidly wrong or is there 2 differant center consoles ?

the top part is correct, however the bottom isnt. you need the bottom portion from a gs, gst, gsx, tsi, something. you have an rs or esi bottom portion. the arm rest wont go over that, there may be a way to make it work though.

Like the guy above said you need the tray from a higher trim level car as well as the lid. Push a screwdriver under the edges of the storage tray and pop it out by prying up all the way around it. Once you get it to pop the first time you will know how it comes out. Once that tray is out you will see where the hinges go. But like I said you need a different tray to fill the hole with.
