Im re doing my interior next week and I was wondering if its worth spending $600 for brand name seats or is it not worth it.

I am a firm beleiver in "you get what you pay for". Sure other seats mimic the look of high-end seats, but IMO dont quite pull it off. I also think that the fabric that is used is not as of high quality as others.

I personally waited 4 years to get the seats that I knew I wanted. Granted they cost me a lot, but I LOVE them.

I am in no way knocking other seats, or anyone who purchases X-brand seat. If you are happy with them, then thats all that matters.

I love my tenzo's and you can buy mine..

Im thinking that your paying moslt for the brand.
Where I work I know that certain things are marked up for there name.

I bit a HUGE bullet and bought the Sparco Torino 2's that I wanted and I love them. I am in no way concerned about how they will wear, or the workmanship that went into them. I think that they will last a VERY long time as long as I take care of them ( or they dont get stolen ). Getting stolen is a HUGE downside to expensive aftermarket seats.

I know a friend that had a Corbeau seat given to him as a gift and he like it fine and well when it was new. After about a year, he notice much more wear than he wanted/expected. After a year in my seats, they still look new and show no wear. Granted I am anal and usually use a towel to sit on so I dont get it dirty.

If your going to buy the X-brand my only warning for you is to get ready for some major custom work on the install. My friend just had some put in and it was a pita. Also, factor in the cost for racing harnesses if your going that route.

Sparco seats and I think some momo are TUV approved. That is some french standard of safety that all racing seats go through(I think). So I would buy them just for the safety issue, not that you'd be baja racing or anything, but I agree with ^^^ you get what you pay for.

the tenzos are fine, they are just like sparcos, my friend has got them in his civic and he says that it was the best 500 bux he ever spent

I have black/gray tenzo r rally seats in my eclipse. I'll trade them to you for stock leathers if you paying shipping for everything heh

I personally don't like them. Makes it too hard to get in/out of my car. They are better than the stock cloths though - those were truly suckass imo

I'm not quite sure what you're looking for in your seats. If it's for comfort, buy some leather ones.

I cannot comment on the quality of the higher end sparcos or corbeau's ... except that they are better looking imo. I know JasonEsi and Jarad (sp?) w/ the red GS-T both have nice sets of racing seats that look very comfortable. They also weren't too expensive if I remember correctly. Ask them how they're holding up.

I have a set of blue tenzo seats for sale, personally i love them butmy 97 has leather and ilike that more. No fab work was required tomake them fit, direct drop in. If you want em then who cares what other think, they are fun to have and sit in.

i do at home.....unless you live local it woundnt be worth it. If you want picts tosee how they look then sure i have those with a pict of my blue momo steeringwheel

ha! $600 is not expensive for seats.

600 is a lot when you have a house, kids or are married. not all of us live at home with mommy and daddy

I recently bought a set of Tenzo-r Dtm type seats for like 125 used, and for the money i can't complain. I also had to buy brackets and sliders for 140$ so total cost was around 265 for the pair.There pretty comfortable and they do a damn good job of keeping me in position.There not reclineable but thats exactly what I wanted.(people can't get in the back therefore can not mooch rides!!!)Imo, I'd considered them if i was you.

dude i'm going to have to put myself in the rice category for this mod, or atleast by most 2gnters opinion. i have 3A racing seats. the red and black fake leather ones. i'm not gonna lie, it was an amazing bitch putting them in, you have no idea how much custom fab, cutting, welding, drilling and bolting i had to do, but after it's all said and done, i really really like my seats. they hold your ass in there real nice. they're comfortable and i think the look nice. i'm personally just kicking myself for going to pepboys and purchasing racing seats. lol, that's just not my norm. i'm anti-rice for the most part and the 3a racing seats aren't exactly "low key" on the rice meter.

EDIT: i personally would go with a bigger name brand like TENZO if i had to do it again. the seats were $160 a piece then the brackets i got were $60 shipped. then i had to go out and buy $16 worth of pieces of raw steel so that i could fab up extra pieces on the brackets to get the seats to mount. atleast the bigger name brands have nice sliders and brackets that mount perfectly in the car.

I live on my own thank you very much. And I was saying that as far as seats go 600 bucks isn't that expensive, I wasn't saying anything about whether he could or could not afford it. So don't pull the mommy and daddy routine on me, some people don't have parents either.
