73954, Damn electric mirrors...help.. Posted by jdpilot, Jun-20-04 10:13 AM
My side power mirrors stopped working today. When I try to adjust them with the switch, no movement...arrrrggghhh! Is this common, anyone know what the issue may be?? Is there a single motor/switch somewhere under the dash or do you think both mirrors coincidentally failed mechanically at the same time...Thanks

I believe that the mirrors have a fuse underneath where the pedels are. Something could have caused the fuse to blow, it could also be wiring...
Don't quote me on that thou!

Hi, I've been installing mobile audio equipment for 17 yrs and can tell you that it's EXTREMELY unusual for more than one item on the same electrical circuit to go bad at the same time. I would start my troubleshooting at the power window switch and fusebox. I just disassembled one of my power mirrors last night for some mod work and it's a very simple circuit...3 wires total to the mirror.
Have faith...it's unlikely that your mirror motors have gone bad. Email me if you have any questions.

I ended up having to replace my power mirror switch about a year ago. No problems since.

I would go with bono316 and get a new switch but check the fuses first.
