7376, Z3 Fenders Posted by icjeclipse, Sep-10-01 02:24 PM
If anyone has or knows someone who has Z3 fiberglass fenders, please give me some info on them. I am interested in getting some but don't know which brand. How well do they fit? How does Han compare the Aerogear? Also where can i get them cheap? Thanks

Get aerogear ones. They are thick, have the holes drilled in them and are ready for paint. I have them and they are very nice. I ordered them from nopi - so they werent that cheap, like 300 shipped. The intall hasnt happend for me but they dont look hard at all.

I just ordered the $100 fender inserts from teamprototype.com, I would much rather have the inserts because they are cheaper, I can place the z3 insert anywhere on my fender (i think the aerogear ones are too close to the end of the wheel well), and I can keep my stock metal fenders, which will hold up a lot better to bottoming out rather then fiberglass fenders and a fiberglass bumper.

Yeah and most of them don't fit right. My bud got some for his Neon and they were ok ok top of the "fender/door" gap but then as it got lower the gap got bigger. Looked like shit so he slod them to the local ricegirl for 100 bucks more then he paid and she has them on her white neon and there just to dammn ugly

Ya I think a lot might not fit right, just like bumpers. But the inserts must be custom molded by a pro, or they will easily crack over time...

not that I know shit about this kind of stuff but I know a guy from a local car club who deals with aerogear direct and he claims they test fit there fenders first to ensure fit as opposed to cheaper brands.

Yes by far AeroGear is the best out there. I never saw a bad Aerogear part

yeah, but think of the advantages of the vent, it cools down the frame. The motor is quite close to the frame, so the air conduced by the frame isn't as much so the the motor runs cooler. Yeah, thats it javi d vroom n' boom

hehe just like custom scoops (that don't vent to the brakes) will cool the quarter panel of the car, causing less heat dissipation to the wing, which results in better downforce...

7389, DONT BUY INSERTS!! Posted by Niclipse, Sep-20-01 02:03 AM
Well, dont buy them if you plan on puting them in your fenders. The inserts i got from teamprototype.com are great quality, but are too big and most importantly, TOO FLAT for our rounded fenders.
Anyone wanna buy my inserts? $100!
