I just want to now how hard is it? My driver side door handle is busted. I took off the door panel to get a look inside to see if i can change it out myself, but it looks kinda complicated. should i take it in to my local satan or can i easily swap this out myself?

One important item to add which makes things a lot easier is in the final step for removing the old handle. When you need to remove the plastic clip that holds the actuation rod going down to the door latch, it is much easier to first remove the three screws holding in the door latch. Now you can lift the door handle and the latch together upward slightly so the plastic clip and rod are exposed on the exterior of the door handle hole. Now it's very easy to open the clip and start installing the new handle. I'll have my own full photo tech topic online soon my 2G door handle repair kits go on sale, hopefully by late August.

Dave knows what's going on with the door handles too. I have one of his steel insert kits on my car and they are no joke. Definitely the last set of handles you will need to buy.

Post a pic of these handle repair kits. Im curious....

I designed a pair steel inserts that sit inside the hinge arm on the handle. This distributes the stresses more evenly throughout the arm. I can dead lift 100 lb. of concrete with a handle that was previously broken on both hinges. I am awaiting the first order of parts from a local laser cutter and will offer kits as soon as they can be put together. It's a little easier to install these in a handle that hasn't broke yet but I know most people won't do this as preventative maintanence. If you have your door panels off for other work it's a great time to install these in your handles.

The minimum first order cost me over $500 so I hope these things sell. I guess when the cold weather kits this fall I'll know for sure.
