72418, Nightshades and painting question
Posted by QC DSM ESiT, May-20-04 07:59 AM
Okay so I have a Talon and I will be painting the tail lights with Nightshades here soon. No the main question I have is where can I get like spraypaint or something that will be pretty much be an exact match for the middle part to paint the TALON letters on the back and the part around the license plate.

Also do you guys think I should Nightshade the little circles for the reverse lights or would it be too dark then? Thanks in advance and I will be sure to show you pictures when I am all finished.

BTW any Nightshading tints will be appreciated too. :thumbsup

Also this is not my car but mine is the exact same color. Here is what the back end looks like so you know what I am talking about.

oh...you mean like this dood??

nice car, btw :thumbsup

thats two coats on teh outside pieces and three on the inside. Cops haven't given me any issues and i actually think it somehow made the lights a lil brighter...could jus be me though :shrug

I like it blacked out...especially if you have dark tint...a few people have done the tops red.

One thing i would like to see is a lit up center piece...and when you go over it with night shade jus do a pinstripe around the TALON letters...so when you take the pin stripe off...it jus leaves TALON block letters that light would go through

I would recommend getting a shop to do the middle around the plate and the letters. It wont look as good with spray paint. You need the same shine and appearence as the rest of the body.

Actually dude if you take your time and sand and put your brain into it you can make spray paint look just as good. It just takes time and patients.

WOW that looks sweet! Except what I planned on doing was painting the TALON lettering and the black around the license plate the same color as the car. Would you know where I can get a very close match to that color. Or just the TALON lettering would be fine to me I just need to know what grid sand paper and where I can find a color match.

pretty sure you are gonna have to go to a paint shop...its cheap though...you should be able to get it in spray can form too. Have you actually seen pics of it done though?? I have disliked every talon i saw with a painted center piece....my $0.02 USD IMO

Got pics. of the painted center piece on a Talon? I am now thinkin of just painting the whole thing with Nightshades and if I wanted to later just paint the TALON letters and possibly the center section.

i don't have a pic....but everytime i see it done i cringe and want to hit the person in the nuts with a sledge hammer...then rape and pillage their village.

Night Shade all the way across and color match teh Talon letters...pure sex IMO

Well I figure I won't paint the color of my car around the license plate. Especially if I ever saw you at like the shoot out, I would rather not have my nuts hit with a sledge. I did figure out though what to do with my TALON letters. There is this place by my house called Modern Images and I guess they can color match very close to my car and can make exact size stickers to go right over the letters.

Definetly paint the black part around the plate, just not the whole center. I think Buck is talking about the whole center piece painted to match and I agree it looks like ass. I used to have them all red(no amber), then I went with white letters, and now I have the center painted red and the letters red.
(sorry pics kinda suck)
