it just pries off.. but before you do.. lift up the end over that stoper peg looking thing and let the needle settle down towards the bottom and mark that spot.. then just use your fingers and pull straight up on the rouded central part.. it may seem like it doenst want to come off, but it will.

use 2 spoons and pop it off

a fork works better ;) put the needle inbetween the prongs and gently pry up

If your trying to get out of a ticket...
When you put the needle back on make sure its about 2 cm from the little tach that it should be resting on. Thatll put you 5-10 under what you are really going. Happened to me when I was putting on my indiglos.

If you're doing it to get out of a ticket, good luck... most counties or cities require an official testing of the spedometer. If it works, :thumbsup to you, if not, :(

This won't get you out of a ticket...sorry...the judge will just say "Well, you should get that fixed." and might give you a "fix-it" ticket on top of your speeding ticket.
