over the winter im doin a full interior re-do..im startin to buy some of the shit now so i could have it all for the beginning of the winter when i put the car away...anybody know where i could buy leather seats for a 97 rs?..black 1's im lookin for..also if anybody's got any pics/suggestions on paintin there interior lemme know please..thanks

Katwoman in the SW forum at Neons.org has a nice set of black seats from an NSX in her Neon. They are for sale and for a helluva lot less than from the dealer. ($10k/pair new) You might check that out. If they'll go in a Neon, I bet you could get them into a DSM...

I am doing the same exact thing with my car. I am redoing it all in black and throwing some black leather seats in soon. You should ask JarradGST for some pics of his car its very nice. I forget where he bought his front seats but they are really nice black leather. I have a friend who is selling me some stock 99' GS Aniversory Edition Black Leater seats. I am really psyched to get this done as well. I used this paint from Pep Boys I forget the name but I will post again later, I did not prep at all and it turned out good. The trick is to do really thin coats so that it looks really spotty. And just keep doing that until eventually the part your painting is evenly painted.

2g black leather seats are rare as hell to come by ... keep on looking for 'em at these sites and they'll eventually pop up...good luck :thumbsup

Just rememeber if you are looking for black leather seats the only year they were put into the Eclipses was in 99'. It was in the Aniversery Edition Only. They are only made as non powered also.

as far as interior paint i used testor's hobbie spray paint, cleaned the surfaces with thinner and then sprayed a few thin layers till it was evenly covered. no chippin or anything just make sure its dry before you install the parts.

not to bring your spirits down but it took me about a year and a half to get black leather...i mean..ones that where not 500+..good luck..

I've seen 99 GSX's that came stock with power black leather too.

ONe more option, although not really the cheapest,is to get a set of new leather covers, from Katzskin. They fully replace the fabric covers, and you need to basically recover the entire seat with them. Its not that hard to do really..The kit for all the seats is around 600 i believe..you can get any color you want, and even two tone colors for like 20 bucks more..

not to hijack the thread, but did RS ever come with leather as an option? because I have them in mine (bought off another person) so I'm not entirely sure what's going on. although my leather is grey, it's for sure made for an RS because the rear folding seat is for the 1-piece.

A guy in guy here says he will leather mine here for $500 front and back. You might just want to talk to a shop around your way.
