70602, Found a welder.. is this what I need? Posted by tacoman123, Apr-12-04 12:23 PM
I need a welder to weld some sheet metal together. (Look at other post). Its actually part of the main body. I believe its a steel panel. I am approximating that it is at most about 1/8" thick. I need it to plug into a wall outlet, because I don't have a 220V outlet at my house.
Its a 90 Amp, gaseless, MIG welder.

wow, good deal, I'd say check EBAY 1st they've had killer deaqls on welders
it will do it but it will take some practice, grab some sheet metal and set you temp/feed on it before you work the actual product. It will do it though,
Try not to burn it up!

well, just grab some metal that is similar to the car's metal, and get your wire speed and heat right. don't wanna burn through anything.

You might actually want to consider buying a miller or a lincoln.
You can get a lincoln for like 450 from homedepot or lowes. I know its more money buy you get what you pay for. I know because i just spent 850 on a millermatic 175 gas mig welder. Before that i had a 200 schumaker(campbell hausfeild w/ different cover) and it sucked. I couldn't get a bead to save my life. It splatters like mad and has no cold tip start(where the wire is electrically dead until you pull the tigger and start feeding)
You also will get better wire feed control and amperage control with a good welder.
It is so worth it, if you want your car to be strong you need a strong weld and you wont get it with a POS welder.
